Floriculture
More than 17000 ha. of land is under floriculture in the State. While OctoberFebruary is the lean season in Europe/Japan, it is suitable for production in West Bengal Floriculture complex at North Bengal with state of the art infrastructure planned to be set up Modern floriculture complex to be set up at Mullickghat, Kolkata and Panskura, Purba Medinipur Export of flowers like Gladioli, Anthurium, Gerberra, Tuberose, Orchid to Netherlands, Middle-East and U.K.

Food Parks
9 Food Parks are being developed These Parks would have all common facilities like cold storage, effluent treatment plants, sewerage, power connection, warehouse etc. Three of these Parks are exclusively for fish processing
We have already received financial assistance for 5 Food Parks which includes 3 Fishery Food Parks

Research
The State has a strong tradition of research Two renowned Agri Universities are located hereBCKV, UBKV Jadavpur University has a Food Technology wing Here are 11 R&D Farms of the Dept. IIT KGP has a Agri Dept. Other institutions include Calcutta University, Vishwabharati, North Bengal University Indian Institute of Packaging has a wing at Kolkata

Training Institute to be established at Bamanghata, South 24-Parganas, for Food Processing EDP by BNCCI On Export Oriented Floriculture Training For Farmers In AEZS
