. Creating a blog for the first time can be an intimidating, daunting and overwhelming task for some students. From our experience, UCF provides a 4 to 5 week lead-in time to allow students to break the task of blogging into discreet and manageable parts. Tackling the smaller constituent blogging processes individually is one way that enables students to establish clear blogging goals. This template is an abbreviated format of guidance UCF provides students for to support them through the process of setting blogging goals. Download and save this template for your own reference. Task 1 2 3 Brainstorm ideas for blog topic Select blog topic idea (confer with your tutor if youre unsure) Think about the different subjects within your blogging topic. Do a Mind Map if this helps. These are free online mind mapping tools: http://www.mindmeister.com , http://www.mindomo.com and https://bubbl.us Look at youre the blogging subjects you came up with. Try to organising them as though they were sub-themes. These sub-themes will be your blog categories. Dont worry, you can always add more! Identify your audience: internal audience (course & tutors) and external audience (industry and/or general public). Investigate some blogging services and see which one will be easy for you to use.
