ACTIVIDADE 0. DURAO 5 min. PROCEDIMENTO The teacher greets the students. Then, she takes the register and opens the lesson on the board. She doesnt write the summary immediately, because of the guessing exercise that is going to be done next. Warm up: Guessing the topic The teacher draws a circle on the board and writes some words around it, for example, profit, marketing, research, products, publicity, classified, flyer, brands and asks the students to guess the topic, that is, the missing word in the circle. Should the students come up with more related words, the teacher adds them on the board. Now, she writes the summary on the board. Reading a text about branding and brand names The purpose of this reading is to lead students in, about the topic of this class, which is more focused on young people and brands. Pre-reading: The teacher hands out annex 1 and asks students to discuss the importance of brand names and to think about their sources with their peers. Reading: Students read a small text and give it a title. After that, the students do a true/ false exercise. Post reading: The students match the brands with the corresponding sources. Reading the text: Young people and brands Pre-reading: The teacher hands out annex 2 and the students discuss in pairs the three given questions in the worksheet.

Reading: Students read the text and complete the comprehension exercises. Correction is done orally. 4. 35 min. Matching slogans with brands and creating new slogans: The teacher hands out annex 3 about slogans and brands. The students match each slogan with the corresponding brand and create for each brand a new slogan. The students share their slogans with the class.
