PART 2 PRODUCT 2.1 A. GENERAL Proprietary names used for materials are intended to imply that products of the named Saudi manufacturers are required. Equivalent products of other manufacturers may only be used where local supply is not available. PIPING MATERIALS Reinforced Concrete Pipe for Storm Sewer System: Reinforced concrete pipe shall be in accordance with ASTM C76, or approved equal. Minimum wall thickness and reinforcement shall be per class III, wall Type B. Cement used in concrete shall be sulfate resistant, Type V. The pipe shall be designed to withstand HS-20 traffic loading plus a minimum of 10% impact allowance. Joints shall be rubber ring joints. PVC pipe for Sanitary Sewer and Industrial Waste Water System: Pipe shall conform to SASO 14 in accordance with Section 02622. Use class 3 pipe for gravity flow system and class 5 pipe for force mains. For nominal pipe diameters larger than 300 mm, use glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) pipe.

Glass fiber reinforced plastic pipe (GRP) for Sanitary Sewer and Industrial Waste Water System: Pipe shall conform to the requirements of Section 02623. Use class H90 for gravity flow systems and Class H150 for force mains. MANHOLES (REFER TO MOC SECTION 6.05) Fiberglass Manholes: Shall have wall thickness to withstand HS-20 loading and shall meet dimensions shown on Standard Drawing RC-C1. Sealant: Fosroc Thioflex 600 or equal. Bricks or concrete blocks used for cover support rings shall be load bearing type, using Type V Cement. All concrete exterior surfaces in contact with backfill soil shall be corrosion protected to the extent specified in Sections 07100 or 07110, as applicable. METAL ACCESSORIES (SEE MOC SECTION 605) Manhole Frame: Refer to MARAFIQ Standard Drawing No. RC-C-2.

All accessories shall be designed for heavy duty loading to meet HS-20 vehicular loading.

PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 A. INSTALLATION OF PIPE General: 1. Install pipe in accordance with Section 02200, except where more stringent requirements are indicated, or specified by the manufacturer of the pipe. Inspect pipe before installation to detect defects. Mark defective materials with white paint and promptly remove from the site.

2.

P.O. Number : 7200018725

3.

Lay pipe beginning at the low point of a system, true to the grades and alignment indicated with unbroken continuity of invert. Place bell ends of pipe or the groove end of concrete pipe facing upstream. Install gaskets in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations for the use of lubricants, and other special installation requirements.

4.

5.

B.

Interior Inspections: 1. Inspect pipe to determine whether line displacement or other damage has occurred. Make inspection after lines between manholes, or manhole locations, have been installed and approximately 600 mm of backfill is in place and at completion of the project. If the inspection indicates misalignment, debris, displaced pipe, infiltration or other defects, take whatever steps are necessary to correct such defects to the satisfaction of MARAFIQ.

2.

3.

3.2 A.

CLEANING PIPES Clear the interior of pipe of dirt and other material as the Work progresses. Maintain a swab or drag in the line and pull past each joint as it is completed. Place plugs in the ends of uncompleted pipe at the end of the day or whenever work stops. Flush lines between manholes if required to remove collected debris. TESTING Perform an exfiltration test of each manhole for a period of twenty four (24) hours, by plugging at downstream and upstream. Perform hydrotest for a pipe segment between manholes or the entire pipeline length, keeping the pipes inside the manholes continuous. The required test pressure is 4.0 Bar for a 24-hour period. The allowable pressure drop shall not exceed five (5%) percent of the maximum test pressure. Force mains shall be tested in accordance with pressure pipe test requirements as specified in Section 02610.

UNDERGROUND STRUCTURES Fiberglass Manholes: Fabricate manhole to dimensions shown in MARAFIQ Standard Drawing No. RC-C-2 and install. Lift Station: Construct the wastewater lift station to dimensions shown on the drawings. Earthwork shall be done in accordance with Section 02200. Concrete shall be in accordance with Sections 03300 and 03400, as applicable. CONNECTIONS Make connections to existing pipes and underground structures, so that the finished work will conform as nearly as practicable to the requirements specified for new work. 1. Provide a new manhole at the location where a new pipe is to be connected to existing pipe as required. See details on the Standard Drawings RC-C-1. Provide drop manholes, as required to suit invert deviations. Take care while making connections to prevent debris from entering the existing system. Remove any debris, concrete, or other extraneous material which may accumulate.

3.6 A.

WARNING TAPE AND BACKFILLING After the exfiltration test is concluded and accepted by MARAFIQ, backfilling can be started. Prior to backfilling, warning tapes shall be laid at 300 mm above the top of sanitary sewer pipe. The following shall be printed on the tape both in Arabic and English, alternately, in durable black letters of 50 mm in height Caution Sanitary Sewer Line Below or Caution Industrial Waste Water Line Below, as applicable. Backfilling shall be performed in accordance with Section 02200.
