Professional Bodyguards Ireland are offering this qualification in association with our training partners and is Accredited by City & Guilds. The Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection is mapped fully to the SIA (UK) Specification for Core Competency Training and Qualifications for the Close Protection Operatives.

The qualification consists of the following fourteen units: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 Understand the legislation that is relevant to people working in the close protection industry Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Close Protection Operative Know the importance of threat assessment and risk management Know surveillance techniques Understand venue security operations Know how to design and demonstrate operational planning Know the importance of interpersonal skills Know the importance of teamwork Know the importance of reconnaissance Know how to conduct close protection foot drills Know the importance of planning and selecting routes Know vehicle movement tactics and operations Know the search techniques and procedures for close protection operations Know how to apply conflict management techniques while providing close protection

Duration It is envisaged that learners will require 140 guided learning hours in order to complete the fourteen units. Candidate pre-requisites No specific prior qualifications, learning or experience are required for candidates undertaking the qualification. However, the nature of both the learning and assessment required for the qualification is such that candidates will need basic literacy and numeracy skills.
