Children will learn about nature by watching a seed grow into a flower or vegetable. Let your child dig in the dirt and watch daily for a sprout to appear. You do not need a big yard or a yard at all for your child to learn through seed-planting activities.
Children can start a garden in almost any container. Cardboard egg cartons are ideal for starting seeds and observing sprouts. They also can put seeds in a plastic storage bag full of dirt so child can see how roots spread down into the dirt as the sprout finds its way up to the surface. Transfer the sprouts to larger pots or a garden plot as they develop. Plants that grow quickly and produce food your child can eat right out of the garden are pea pods, string beans, radishes and carrots. To plant a bucket garden, fill a 5-gallon bucket with dirt and composted soil, dig a hole in the center, crack an egg into the soil for extra fertilizer and plant a tomato seed over the top of the egg. Plant herbs and smaller vegetables around the perimeter of the bucket. Explain to child each step of the planting process and what the fertilizer is for as well as the seeds' need for sunlight and water. Track the vegetables' growth with child. These activities encourages child to keep a journal of your plantings. They can document growth and draw pictures of the process. To make it more of an experiment, plant the same seeds in different soils with different sun exposure and give the seeds different amounts of fertilizer and water. Document differences in growth and production. Or plant a variety of vegetable seeds in one plot and keep track of which seed is the first to sprout, which is the first to blossom and which is the first to produce fruit. For a flower garden experiment, have children see how many different species of flowers they can plant that are all the same color. Or ask your child to try to create a pattern such as a flag or rainbow by plantings seeds that produce flowers in a variety of colors.

great way for kids to experiment with texture (which can be varied by adding more flour). Sand and water are natural materials essential to any preschool allowing children to learn texture, touch and the changing states of the materials as they heap, empty, pour, fill, patt, sieve and create.
Preschoolers are little fountains of imagination and love nothing more than to act out everyday events using makes believe and a few props. Dress up and role play! Provide a dress up corner filled with clothes, hats, shoes, gloves, aprons, scarves. Story time is an integral part of the day care experience and should be fun, interactive and varied. Use props to bring the stories to life, a simple tape recorder can add sound effects, introduce a turn taking system so the kids have a chance to tell a story and encourage make up stories focusing on topics of interest i.e. where the child is the super hero! Develop your story times so that they gradually sequel into a mini dramatics session. Even the shiest child will become so involved in the vibrant characters being created that they will almost unconsciously act out their role too. Art is a wonderful and enjoyable play experience. Painting activities need not be confined to an easel with a paint brush. Finger painting, foot painting, blowing paint throw straws, old tooth brushes, old paint rollers, a multitude of household items dipped in paint to make a stamp all angles on the painting experience. Go through your recycling bin and introduce pots, boxes, egg shells, bottles and anything else that could be decorated.

IT room will be containing some computer systems along with other electronic gadgets like PS2. Kids would be taught usage of systems and they will be encouraged to use them. Games will be offered like typing games, spelling games etc in order to keep their interest and to allow them learn enthusiastically. Information technology advances will help the kids in updating them with the present era and to get them ready for future considerations.
Networking
A network with other organizations and institutions in the local community is important and beneficial for the successful operations of our service. We focus upon following things to become a successful service provider: Investigating the information and cultural needs of the community and trying to match those needs with our Project resources insures that local institutions do not compete but co-operate to the benefit of children. Healthcare centers, day-care centers, kindergartens and other care giving places are institutions which are necessary and welcome partners. They help us a lot in success of our service, especially in understanding promotion activities for children, parents and professionals.
Promotion
Promotion is the periodic activity done to increase interest on a brand. It is the achievement of short term marketing goals. Service. The benefits promotion activity brings to our project services include: increased usage, increased value in the organization, education of users and changed perceptions. The services and facilities provided by the children project must be actively promoted so that the target groups are always aware of its essential role as a partner in learning and as a gateway to all kinds of information resources. Promotional activities can take many forms and the promotional media will depend on the nature of the target audience and on promotional objectives. We designed leaflets aimed at children but these need to be reviewed regularly to keep them fresh and accurate. Our Marketing will target places where children and families meet. We also develop a variety of creative and innovative promotion strategies such as
positive public relations, eye-catching displays, well-designed publications (e.g. flyers and newsletters), direct marketing, book sales, friends groups, contests, public presentations and other new technologies. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff members are also great promotion tools.
Marketing is the management process which identifies, anticipates and supplies customer requirements efficiently...
Thus the essence of marketing involves finding out what the users want, then setting out to meet those needs. As service providers we are participating in this process of assessing our users needs and trying to fulfill them. Thus, we are already marketing our library information skills. However, in order to effectively design our marketing plan we need to embrace the total marketing function involving market research and analysis, service planning and promotion. As library is our core service so we will focus on marketing of library.
34
Marketing Policy
Our children library has a written marketing and promotion policy specifying objectives and strategies. It should be worked out in cooperation with the library management and teaching staff. The marketing policy document should include the following elements: Objectives and strategies. Action plan which ensures that the objectives are attained.
Market Plan
In light of the information gathered from the market research the conclusions should be summarized and stated as the basis upon which the market plan is based. The market plan is the actual process which will establish our business goals and objectives and figure out how to achieve them. The marketing plan is the tool which will ensure that the services and products are viewed in a focused and clear way.
35
CONCLUSION:
The childrens project seem to be shifting from being related to learning and education to being just as much about creating the library experience ; playing, being together and have a fun. Especially the childrens library has to be an experience on its own in order to be attractive to the modern family who prioritize their time so strictly in order to meet the needs of all its individuals. We are competing for peoples time! Skills like communication, creativity and imagination necessary in our modern society and this way naturally becomes part of our project. Working with technology can certainly support this.
