Important:
NOTE the correct volume of ph Activator must be used to raise entire tank mix ph
to between 7.4-7.8. Absolutely no other ph adjusting material, is to be used with any
or all Jack Frost Foam’s™ products. Plant kill or damage can result.
1
Note: When ph is approximately 7.2 it is recommended to use a rate of 0.25% (use rate
of 0.25% as described in step 5-Procedure) of tank volume when adding Ph Activator
into mix tank, so not to exceed recommended final ph range 7.4-7.8.
Important Note: Do not exceed over or under the recommended ph of tank mix
7.4-7.8 or Jack Frost Foam™ will not have the ability to: A.) Last for any specific
duration of time. B.) Stay stable in the mix tank and perform (in a foam state) as it
was designed. C.) Will not have insulating properties against cold weather or frost.
D.) Protect plants and can result in plant death.
Important:
Note: Changing the order/procedure as listed (above) for placing Jack Frost
Foam™ products in the mix tank can cause reactions to occur in the mix tank and
cause the entire mix tank to become defective and unstable. NOTE: User and or
applicator/operator(s) accepts total liability for all damages or all loss for altering
the procedure of adding Jack Frost foam™ products into the mix tank as listed
above.
What crops can be covered with Jack Frost Foam™? The crops that Jack Frost foam™
has been tested on can be found on the bottom of our web site in the “view our power
point presentation on the efficacy of Cryo-Protectant Material for Frost Protection”.
A crop compatibility test is always recommended and required on any plant or crop not
listed, before actual plant coverage use of Jack Frost Foam™ begins. NOTE: User and
or applicator/operator(s) accepts total liability for all damages and all loss associated with
not testing plant and or crop compatibility with Jack Frost Foam™ products. Crops
previously tested are peppers, tomatoes, strawberries, squash, and watermelon.
Jack Frost Foam™ can be applied several times on freeze events on the same crop.
www.jackfrostfoam.com . American Ag. Foam recommends too spray down the foam
with water the next morning (after the freeze event has passed) when the temperature is at
40º F and climbing. Washing down the surface of the foam will weaken the foam’s
2
surface membrane, allowing the foam to break down quicker. This is recommended in
southern states, where temperatures will increase the next day of a freeze event.
A wash down is also recommended for the following reasons: 1) Prevents overheating
(overheating can damage plants resulting in plant kill) within the foam due to the
insulating abilities that the foam blanket exhibits. 2) Washing will help to reduce or
eliminate foam residue on the plant surface that is a natural occurrence of foam
breakdown. Washing will also clean surface areas where possible injury to individuals
can occur due to the Jack Frost Foam having a soapy slippery residual effect, which can
cause injury to individuals that may fall due to slick surface conditions.
Disclaimer:
Jack Frost Foam™ will create a-long lasting insulating foam when label directions and
all technical information on mixing instructions are followed. American Ag. Foam LLC
warrants Jack Frost Foam™ against defects in foaming ability and insulating ability
(Jack Frost Foam’s™ ability to insulate is determined by the temperature reached and
duration of the cold event compared to the thickness of the foam blanket applied. Note:
The thicker the foam blanket applied the better the insulating abilities provided). Read
all information before using Jack Frost Foam™ on any crop. Check physical
compatibility first on any and all crops before beginning use of Jack Frost Foam™.
Compatibility Recommendation: using a 1 quart jar add the proportionate amounts of
Jack Frost Foam™ products (follow label directions of each product) for a 1 (one) quart
mix. After thoroughly mixing, let mixture stand for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Growers/user must apply liquid mix to a sampling of plants (wet entire exposed surface
of plant and leafs and leave on plant for a period of 10 hours. Lightly rinse off Jack Frost
Foam from plant surface and monitor tested plants for several days to determine plants
sensitivity to Jack Frost Foam. Do not use on plants if a burn or damage of tested plants
is found) It is recommended to test Jack Frost foam’s™ mix for phytotoxicity, leaf burn,
or plant kill prior to large scale foam use is started. If for any reason user/applicator does
not understand any or all of the directions and information contained in Jack Frost
Foams™ labels, MSDS, Technical Data & Application sheet or provided verbally.
American Ag. Foam LLC and its distributors recommends for the user/applicator to ask
someone with a technical background and ability to explain any and/or all the
information in a form more understandable to the user/applicator. If an individual, is not
available to explain the information to the user/applicator, American Ag. LLC Foam
3
recommends that the applicator/user not apply Jack Frost Foam on any plants until all
directions and information is fully understood.
Due to the wide variation in climatic conditions, cultural practices and other factors, the
User assumes full responsibility for any and all crop damage or other liability resulting
from the incorrect use or misunderstanding of directions of Jack Frost Foam™ on a crop
or plant.
