May Friendship Day, sponsored by Church Women United, will be held May 4, 2012 at First Christian Church (DoC), 1908 SE Fort King St. Ocala. This years theme is Listening to My Sister. May Friendship Day was first observed in 1933. It began as a demonstration of faith at the height of the Depression. Now, as then, women share a meal and take a stand on behalf of creative healing relationships in their communities. Out of these sharing observances grow community-centered action.
