Vote for the marriage amendment

The marriage amendment will be up for a vote May 8. We are being bombarded on every front. Thomas Jefferson wrote this, never imagining that the sanctity of marriage would be at risk: I place the economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with debt. If we run into such debt we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our labor and amusement. If we can prevent the Government from wasting the labor of the people under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy. Our founders had incredible insight and foresight and made lasting provisions for future generations of their beloved country. They never would have believed the depth of depravity we the people have allowed. We cannot blame anyone but ourselves, for we have closed our eyes for too long and now find ourselves at the very edge of a cliff. There are those who would vote against the marriage amendment, but they are first and foremost voting against God, who instituted marriage to be between one man and one woman. It is a shame that America has come to this, to have to add a marriage amendment to the N.C. Constitution in order to make it clear what a marriage is. The definition of marriage must not be changed and desecrated. Please know that voting for the marriage amendment is not a ban on same sex unions as was reported in the newspaper, which is a whole separate issue. There is a hidden agenda here, like the mafia with store fronts that appear to be legitimate but in reality they are just places to hide illegal activities and are used for money laundering. This vote is not about homosexual and lesbian rights; they already have equal rights and protections under the law. This agenda is about the government interfering with the freedom of religion. The motive behind this is for pastors to be forced by law to marry same sex couples. The sin of homosexuality with its lustful, vile affections changes the natural use into that which is against nature, dishonoring their own bodies between themselves. (Rom:1) Let me be perfectly clear that God loves these people but hates their sin as do we Christians. He is long suffering and gives much space to repent. The goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance. Pastors and priests in defiance of the law would be dragged off to jail, thus violating their freedom of speech, and the free exercise of religion (in our state) would be extinguished. Churches that defy the law would lose their tax exempt status and shortly thereafter, cease to exist. Of course this law would be dormant and not enforced right away, but when the time is right, just as other laws seem to just pop up out of nowhere, so it will be with this one. I was outraged when I read in the Wilson paper that the Democratic Party from California was coming to N.C. to mobilize the Democratic Party to vote against the marriage amendment. California is one of five states that never added a marriage amendment, thereby allowing liberal activist judges to decide for them against traditional marriage. The definition of marriage was changed in an instant against what the majority of the people wanted. Those of you who are staunch party liners who say that they are Christians, let it not be in word only but also in deed for it is written, You shall know them by their fruit. We must all be wise and vote our conscience, not our party, especially when the party goes against our religious beliefs. Unlike California and those other states, we have a choice. Vote for the marriage amendment, not against it. In matters of principle, stand like a rock. Andrew Jackson The truth shall make you free. Jesus Christ
