Introduction
We all have heard about the possible existence of Atlantis. But what most people dont realize is that there were other mysterious lost continents. And that is the topic of my project the lost continent of Lemuria. Its inhabitants, the Lemurians, were a society that was not concerned with power. Their native language was Naacal. But Ill tell you later more about them. When reading my work you should keep in mind that there were different supporters of Lemuria existence in the past such as James Churchward, Helena Blavatsky, August Le Plongeon, etc. However, my work was mainly based in the work of James Churchward. Are you ready to enter in a journey that will challenge your imagination? The Lemurians will definitely change the way you will see things from now on. At least for me they did! Maybe you will feel more connected to them. Who knows. Well, some people actually say this, so its not impossible.

Meet Lemuria
Lemuria was first referred by Augustus Le Plongeon in the nineteenth century and he claimed that several civilizations such as the Mesoamericans and the Egyptians were survivors from the Lemuria catastrophe. But what exactly was Lemuria? Where was it located? When it existed? Lemuria, Mu or Motherland was a possible lost continent, like Atlantis, that was located in the Indian and Pacific Ocean and that existed about 12,000 years ago. Atlantis existed at about the same time but a little bit later. Churchward believed it was about 5,000 miles long and 3,000 miles wide and that it was a beautiful tropical paradise like the famous Garden of Eden that we all have heard about. Mu was the cradle of human life or even better, the Motherland of our civilizations. After the sinking, the survivors spread all over the world being America the first place to be colonized. This lost continent sank beneath the ocean because of a cataclysm. However, modern scientists dont consider Lemuria a valid scientific hypothesis as it is physically impossible for a continent to sink and also in such a short time. Nowadays some think that Mu included lands like Hawaii, the Easter Islands, the Fiji Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Madagascar, California and part of British Columbia in Canada.

Lemurians vs. Atlanteans

For a few million years Lemuria was paradise and a magical place. You would imagine that the Lemurians, being such a nice civilization would get along with other societies, especially with the Atlanteans. However, when the Atlanteans showed up, a cycle of wars had started causing great devastations. The reason of their fights wasnt because the Lemurians wanted Atlantis technology. Actually, they didnt care about it as they were more concerned about developing teleportation, telepathy and other 4

abilities. It was because these two civilizations supported different ideas about other less evolved cultures. While the Lemurians supported these less evolved cultures claiming that they should be left alone and evolved by their own efforts and ideologies, the Atlanteans did believe they should be controlled by two or more evolved civilizations. When finally the two had realized that these wars were no good to both of their continents, they stopped and there was no winner.

Telos
So how can Lemuria be the cradle of human life if it sank beneath the Ocean? Believe it or not, some Lemurians did manage to survive. And only because they build an underground city, Telos. But how did they know that it was necessary to build such fantastic city? After the Lemurians and Atlanteans had settled, the priests were informed of the catastrophe. So the inhabitants of Mu asked for permission to build Telos so that they could keep their culture and records to be discovered later. But there was an obstacle they had to prove that there would not be any more war and aggression. And so they did and permission was granted. The Lemurians then used the large dome cavern in Mount Shasta to build Telos. Despite the warning and now with the city of Telos, the sinking came earlier than expected and many had died since they were sleeping and there was no strange weather that night. Only 25,000 million people made it on time.

Possible evidence of Lemuria

The inhabitants of Lemuria left us evidence that allows us to know so much about their history. For example, we have already discovered Lemurian Seed Crystals that supposedly contain the knowledge and story of this continent. Some say that these crystals symbolize the time for a civilization to return to the sea. There are as well other physical evidences. In Peru, the Ica Stones may have illustrations of maps of Lemuria. We have also strange stone monuments all over the entire Pacific Ocean. One of the best examples that is known all over the world are the Easter Islands, where we have hundreds of colossal stone statues and written language which give consistence to the existence of Lemuria. The Lemurians were very tall which happens to these colossal statues and the written language may be Naacal. There are also some civilizations like the Samoans and the Maoris that talk about similar continents as Lemuria.

The Lemurians
You must already be asking yourself how were the Lemurians? Well, one thing I assure you - they were not the typical human being. The Lemurians were a mixture of 5

different races that came from different planets such as Sirius and Alpha Centauri. They were a vegetarian, agricultural, outdoor, organic civilization that were in constant harmony with the nature and the lands and that didnt care about the scientific technology of the Atlanteans. Lemurians practised meditation, in other words, they were beings that were free from stress and diseases and that lived to a very long age. They were in constant development of their extra sensory perception. With that, after some years they were able to teleport or do telepathy. That is why some say the Lemurians were telepathically linked to the dolphins. Most of the inhabitants of Lemuria were female. One of their objectives was the development of the will and the imagination. And in this way the children were educated based on these values. According to Blavatsky, the Lemurians were bandy-legged, egglaying hermaphrodite apes (some with four arms, some with eyes in the back of their head) and twelve feet tall. As for domestic animals, they had dinosaurs. And what about their buildings? Firstly, they werent concerned about where they would live. started changing these caves to have more comfort. All over the years A Lemurian and a dinosaur they became masters of construction, which would lead them to our recent homes. And thats why Churchward claimed that they lived in homes with transparent roofs. Lemurians also had central places where clairvoyant seers, oracles Eliminado: as well and holy people did healing and sound work. They build pyramids or ziggurats, where they would worship the gods and goddesses or sacrifice themselves as well. They could also be landing areas for their spaceships.

The first religion

According to James Churchward, the religion of Lemuria was the first religion of Mankind. In this religion there were eight roads that you had to pass to reach Heaven. The first road was the arrival, after travelling some roads, of the soul at the gates to the world beyond. Then, in order to enter you had to show that you had overcome the twelve temptations. You would then be allowed to pass the gates. After entering Heaven you must prove that your body possessed the twelve virtues. Finally, the last road was that you could now make your way into Heaven to the Throne of Glory, where the Heavenly Father was waiting. I dont know if you have noticed, but these steps are pretty similar to our Christian beliefs at the moment. Coincidence or not, I dont know, but I think it kind of makes you feel connected to the Lemurians.

The cosmogonic diagram and sacred lotus

There are several symbols I could talk about that are related to Lemuria but I decided only to refer, in my opinion, the most important and relevant the cosmogonic diagram and the sacred lotus. The cosmogonic diagram of Lemuria was the symbol that inspired all others all over the world. In other words, it was the mother of all cosmogonic diagrams. The children of Mu had to learn its meaning just like now children learn the Bible. In the centre, the circle is the Sun and it symbolizes the Gods in Heaven. People often say that lotus is one of the most sacred flowers. But why? Yes, youve got it it was from Lemuria gardens. It was also the first flower to give beauty to the Earth. Conclusion
To sum up I think that fictional or not the Lemurians were a society whose principles are worth following. They showed us that war and aggression only lead to bad events (maybe the gods that punished them will punish us!). Something that made me think about was the fact that the crystals that have already been discovered are somehow related to the Mayan Calendar Prophecy or to 2012. Who knows. Only time will tell. And what about the pyramids? Do you think that they are related to the Mayans as well? Surely there are many questions to be answered and a lot more to be discovered but one thing I assure you the Lemurians were a society that many of us seek to build. Their principles were the simplest possible but the best for peace. And thats it. Your journey may continue if you seek more wisdom or end right now. I just have one final question do you feel more connected to Lemuria now?
