Body image is what my blog is about and I may sound repetitive.

However I really want people of all ages and genders to feel encouraged after reading from my article. Body image is the picture our own body in which we form in our mind this image can be based off of what society says or what we allow ourselves to think. I got this information from Schilder from oxford. What we see or think of our self is often psychological, all in our mind. For instance many people may not recognize that your arm is rounder or that beauty mark under your eye. We make things on our body bigger than what they are. I know I am guilty of this. This past week I had what I thought to be an awful zit on my chin. To me I felt like it was the size of a quarter! This made me have apprehensions about talking to people. I mean when I talked to them I didnt want the main focal point to be the pimple on my face! Later on that week looking back I realize that I was just being silly. People dont automatically assume the worst when looking at you. They dont see you and immediately think wow that girl is a toothpick or wow that guy has tiddies! lol not many people are thinking that and if you are a person thinking this way then you need help. I say help because no ones body is the perfect image even model. Nine times out of ten I bet they have either had surgery to make them fit in more with the model world. Like I said all it is al in the head. We let the views of what is the norm in pop culture define body image, instead of accepting ourselves. Ive spoken often of eating disorders in my past post. However when we dive in the matter of the disorders we discover a negative body image is often the cause. The American psychological association says body image issues are at the core of major eating disorders. Reconstructive surgeries have become more popular as well. Celebrities make it big and then often go and change a feature on their body so that they will be accepted as beautiful and captivating to their audience. But no matter how you should choose to view yourself remember beauty is only skin deep. ;)

In this article the main focus was on the mental effects of body image. It talked about why and where people get these perceptions. I also talked about the sexual side effects of body image. I had no clue that, that effected body image but apparently libidinous does. So in conclusion body image is psychological, and sociological.

This artile reflected such ideas that I have talked about before. It starts off telling how body image is a leading cause of eating disorders. It reflects upon this because they doctors and researchers have done
