Students Conference in Electrical and Computer Engineering June 28-29, 2012 Porto, Portugal Conference Website: http://www.fe.up.pt/~StudECE2012/ Papers due: April 22, 2012 ======================================================================== The 1st PhD. Students Conference in Electrical and Computer Engineering (StudECE), is a forum for the presentation of technological advances, research results and work-in-progress research and state-of-the-art in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied Electrical and Computer Engineering. The scientific program will include invited speakers and fully refereed contributions that will be published in the conference proceedings. StudECE's targets are mainly PhD. students involved in research activities, but graduate students and researchers are welcome. Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts showing their research work. The conference proceedings will be available in electronic format. Authors should refer to the Author's Instructions on IEEE's web site for more information on paper format and to download the style/template files. Only electronic submission will be accepted through the conference paper submission web page. Please use only PDF format for the submitted paper. If your paper is accepted you will be asked to submit the source of the camera-ready version of your paper for inclusion in the conference proceedings. Acceptable formats for the source version are LaTeX and Microsoft Word (LaTeX is preferred), using IEEE's style/template files. ======================================================================== TOPICS ======================================================================== Power Electronics Electrical Power Systems Systems and Control Communications and Networks

The submitted papers can be non-original work, as long as reference of the original work is included. The page limit is 2 pages (2-columns), including an abstract, all text, figures, tables and references. Authors should submit the paper in English. A "Best Paper Award" will be conferred to the author of an oral paper presented at the conference, selected by the Program/Conference Committee based on the best combined marks of paper reviewing, assessed by the Program Committee, and paper presentation quality, assessed by session chairs at the conference venue. Only electronic submission will be accepted through the conference paper submission web page.
