Vision: The most respected, influential, and beneficial numismatic association focused on education, fellowship, and public service. Mission: The American Numismatic Association is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to educating and encouraging people to study and collect money and related items. The Association serves the academic community, collectors and the general public with an interest in Numismatics. The ANA helps all people discover and explore the world of money through its vast array of programs including its education and outreach, museum, library, publications, conventions and seminars.

Expand offerings for beginning collectors and the general public to assist them in learning how to avoid common mistakes in purchasing coins and protect their collections Stay the course Stay the course in close collaboration with the Technology Committee Set a deadline goal by which collections will be digitized; consider an increase in staffing to achieve the goal and provide other enhanced services to members Explore the use of Google applications for enabling greater access Test the feasibility of sending ANA staff and resources to 12-15 regional member coin shows year; provide show organizers with a menu of possible services they might value receiving during those visits. Marketing and Communications

Stay the course Create a strategic plan that clarifies the purpose, organization, methods of engaging and motivating volunteers, and the desired outcomes of a formalized regional volunteer program A dedicated ANA staff member will need to spend approximately half time coordinating the regional volunteer program and half time coordinating visits to regional coin shows (see Regional Coin Shows) Stay the course Perform a thorough study of the contributions made to the ANA vision and mission by WFM and NMS. Explore funding bases, venues, enhancements, growth, revision and possible discontinuance of one or more events to refocus available assets. Decide whether and how the financial and human resources allocated to these events might possibly be better applied to achieve the strategic priorities of the ANA Stay the course Create a strategic plan to engage members in selected demographic groups (e.g., 40 to 60 years of age) with strategies specifically designed for their needs. See that the strategies selected focus on the outcomes such groups find attractive rather than the services provided to them Create a strategic fund development plan with specific financial goals and a resource planto include a full-time professional fund raiserto implement the plan Set specific annual limits on using endowment funds for operating expenses; include this limit in the financial targets established each year to which the Executive Director is held accountable
