Childrens Home offering today - When you provide financially for the Children's Home, the interests and well-being of deserving children, youth and families are addressed in vital Christian ministry. Through this Home, the influences of God's tender mercies and noble human compassion powerfully combine and intervene to lasting benefit, preserving and transforming life. Make your check payable to DHUMC & mark Childrens Home in memo field. You can use the enclosed envelope & place in the offering plate. Offering placed on the communion rail next Sunday, during Holy Communion, is used to help those in need in our church and the community. Sunday Theme for May 6 - White Sunday - Please bring any paper goods such as napkins, toilet tissue, 6 dessert paper plates, 6 oz. or 8 oz. foam or paper cups and plastic forks. 55 gallon heavy-duty trash can liners would also be helpful. May Friendship Day, sponsored by Church Women United, will be held May 4, 2012 at First Christian Church (DoC), 1908 SE Fort King St. Ocala. This years theme is Listening to My Sister. May Friendship Day was first observed in 1933. It began as a demonstration of faith at the height of the Depression. Now, as then, women share a meal and take a stand on behalf of creative healing relationships in their communities. Out of these sharing observances grow community-centered action.
