System Requirements for "Surgical Pathology" Image Collection CD This CD will run on both PCs and Macs: ---------------------------------------Microsoft

Windows Users ---------------------------------------To function properly, the computer utilizing this collection should support at l east an 800x600 pixels screen resolution, 256 colors, 64mb RAM and operate on th e Windows 98, 2000, NT, XP or ME Operating System. Additionally, before beginni ng, be sure the browser has the 'show pictures' checkbox enabled. IE users: You will find 'show pictures' option by selecting the menu 'Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Multimedia' This software is designed to run with Internet Explorer 5.0 or later and Netscap e 4.7 or later. Instructions for using this "Surgical Pathology" Image Collection CD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. If your system does not support Autorun, then please explore the CD contents click on 'Surgpath.exe' to start. 2. CD requires 'Java Runtime Environment' version 1.4.1 to be installed in the s ystem to use Search and Export feature. 'Java Runtime Environment' is available in the Software folder. Please ensure you have administrator privileges to insta ll the Software. After installation, please start the application by clicking 'S urgpath.exe' 3. Export feature 3a) PowerPoint Presentation: The selected images can be exported and saved as Microsoft PowerPoint presentati on. This feature is available in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems having the full version of Microsoft PowerPoint only. 3b) HTML Presentation: For Users without Microsoft PowerPoint, the selected images can be saved as HTML presentation. This feature is available in both Microsoft Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems. On MSWindows and MacOS, the HTML Presentation is saved directly in the Hard driv e Note: The Search and Export feature requires the CD-ROM Server to run in the bac kground. The Server can be started manually by selecting 'server.exe' in Windows and 'MServer9' application in MacOS 9.x and 'MserverX.app' in Macos X. 4. Slide Show feature When you click on the Slide Show, the last 25 HTML presentation are listed in th e page. Clicking on the link opens the HTML presentation in a new window. To vie w the specific HTML presentation, select the index.htm in the folder HTMLshows 5. 'Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 5' Run-Time Redistribution Pack (VBRun60sp5.ex e) is provided on CD. CD requires 'MRJ 2.2.5' to be installed in the system to use 'Export' and 'Sl ideShow' features. 'MRJ 2.2.5' is available on CD's Software folder. If the software is manually installed, please start the application by clicking on 'Surgpath'. 3. To enable the CD to autorun select Control Panels from the Apple menu on your desktop. Select QuickTime Settings, and then select Autoplay. Click the 'Enable CD-ROM Autoplay' checkbox, and then save the settings. No. The program is designed to run entirely from the CD-ROM, independent of the Internet. However the disk does contain links to the online version of the book and to view this material you will require an Internet connection. 2) When I launch the application, I get messages after Netscape starts. What do I do? TCP/IP is required to run any browser-based application. TCP/IP is included with Windows 95, 98 and NT. To add TCP/IP in Windows 95/98/NT, go to Network in the Control Panel. Click the Add button. Click the protocol option and click Add. Un der manufacturers, select Microsoft and under Network Protocols, select TCP/IP a nd click OK. Click OK again and Windows will start to install TCP/IP. When finis hed you will have to restart your machine. 3) What should I This application your ISP starts .
