Ms Cooper to distribute application forms when available. The council members discussed school diaries for next Academic year. They felt the Help stop Bullying page should be updated to include cyber-bullying. Edited version to be produced for Whole School Council meeting on 15th March.

All members Ms Cooper

The council members asked if students be allowed to Mr Edwards design the front cover, this could be done as some kind Whole School Council of competition. They also suggested the inside pages contain more vibrant colour. Could one of the pages be coloured red and this could be placed on desk to make the teacher aware that they are having difficulties in that lesson. Remove signature box at bottom of right hand pages as this is never signed. Leadership Outstanding Lessons This was agreed a good idea. To be discussed at School Council as Criteria not available. Friendly and approachable teachers Interactive lessons (hands on) Class discussions The students felt that before these ideas could be put in place, class discipline needed to be addressed.

Whole School Council Meeting

Mr Whittlestone and Mr Falzon are to attend the meeting. Year 9 members would like to forward the following: PE Favouritism is always shown by all PE teachers to more talented students. Less capable students are always left out/not chosen. At times PE staff have a too high expectation of less physical students and this is embarrassing to them in front of the class. Could the PE Dept renew the trampoline licence so it can be used again by students? E Safety Make the E-safety policy more simple to understand and more interesting. Members reported they havent received any E-Safety Leaflets/Cards containing information. The idea of a school bus was discussed. The journey from school would reach outer Dagenham and Barking consisting of bus stops along high street shops (Martins Corner, Longbridge, Heathway etc.) The students felt that Faircross was an intimidating place to walk through after school, passage made difficult by large gangs of children blocking way. All students present agreed that the merit system wasnt working for Year 9. Commendations are more eagerly given by teachers than merits. Rewards Letters home. Projectors are filthy in Room 61 and students cant see clearly. There are no printers to use in school. Can we have the library printer back. Still issues with 6th formers taking over the library, students feel they have no extra study area. Zoe Chafer and Paige Poole to attend Whole School Council Meeting.
