Who we are
ClearBox Consulting Ltd. is a specialist independent consultancy thats passionate about making the workplace a better experience. We understand technology, but we approach it from the people side first. ClearBox is run by Sam Marshall, former Global Intranet Manager for Unilever, together with a network of associates that can be introduced as-needed. We all have hands-on experience of realities of introducing intranet change in organisations.

Example Projects
For an international finance organisation This client had expanded from being primarily UK-based to having multiple overseas operations, each with unconnected intranets. Their Communications department wanted to use the intranet to support their One strategy of operating more like a single entity. We conducted a range of stakeholder consultations and intranet assessments. The outcome was a detailed set of recommendations for their future strategy, with bestpractice guidance on implementation. This organisation had had a low-key intranet for two years. They had recently introduced an ambitious new business strategy and wanted the intranet to play a larger part in supporting it. Working with directors, managers and users, we formulated a high-level intranet strategy and roadmap which was presented this to the board to win buy-in. ClearBox helped this client to review its internal online approach to delivering information and services for approximately 30,000 employees. They were faced with multiple unconnected intranet activities that had grown organically, and which were no longer meeting their needs. ClearBox conducted a detailed review with users, managers and senior sponsors. The output was a comprehensive set of recommendations and supporting evidence for a future intranet strategy that is aligned with their goals as an organisation. It combined elements of communication, online collaboration, social media, and online services. This project covered the entire online information and collaboration strategy for one of the worlds largest academic publishers. ClearBox provided the specialist expertise to design and conduct in-house requirements gathering from users and stakeholders across the entire organization. We then helped them to craft a three-year roadmap for their intranet and online team-working, covering organizational change, software requirements and process enhancements. For a charity providing worldwide relief and development work This charity has expanded rapidly in the last three years. ClearBox worked with them to devise a new SharePoint intranet strategy that will help them operate in a more structured and process-driven way, yet which still reflected their unique culture and ways of working. The project involved strong liaison with users as well as stakeholders to identify good practice from other organisations that would add strategic value to their work.
