Lao-Tze: He who gains a victory over other men is strong, but he who gains victory over himself is all-powerful.

This quote tell us to gain victory over ourselves. It means that we should be able to control ourselves. Control here means that we have to be able to command ourselves. For example, control the laziness, control the emotion,etc. Someone who cant control him/herself will be ruined. He will do everything he wants, not everything he needs. It is very important to do this. Someone who can beat others are a strong person, but its far harder to beat himself. To beat others, someone only needs to punch, kick, or other things like that. But to beat himself, it takes much more than that. There are many impact of unable to control himself. You can mess up your life, if you are a lazy person. That will happen if you cant control your laziness. Someone who cant control himself can even do a crime. A person wants to make big money, but he doesnt want to work hard, the result, he become a robber, thief, etc. A little example, someday you work at a school, as the headmaster, at that time you need to get much money for an urgent needs. There is a big project at your school, what will you do? Some people who cant control himself may take some of the money, and there is the corruptor, one of great monsters in this Country. Actually our heart know what should we do. But sometimes we just ignore it or we dont want to do it. I also find some quotes that is similar to this quote, the first is Sun-Tzus, the military general, this is the quote: It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle. And next is Platos quote, a Classical Greek philosopher. Here is the quote: The first and best victory is to conquer self; to be conquered by self is of all things most shameful and vile. Some people even pay to help gain victory over themselves. They feel that they cant do that by themselves, so they pay someone to do that, He/She can be a psichiatrist, or etc. But I think they cant help much. In this case, the one who can help is ourselves. It depends to ourselves. Just do the right thing, if you dont know whats the right thing to do, thats not true. Ive told you before, your heart, your deepest heart should know whats the right thing. God is a great constructor, it is. God constructs humans heart so it can be able to detect whats the right thing, the problem is, would you like to do it or not? So the conclusion from me is, gain victory over yourself, and you can be anything.
