Assignment Brief: This is a case study based on the recruitment function. The student is expected to analyze the situation prevailing in the organization (case study) by studying the various methods and comparing it with other organizations as well as your present / past organizations and suggest ways that could be used for effective Human Resource Planning and Recruitment. Assignment Task / Description: This assignment has a total of 5 questions (4 as per case study and one additional i.e. question no. 5) 1. Individually read the case study provided and attempt the 4 questions at the end of the case study. 2. When attempting question 2, focus on uses of Job Description in recruiting and selecting the right employees. 3. While attempting question 3, explain the different methods of attracting and recruitment people. 4. In question 4, focus on various selection tools used by organizations. 5. Compare recruitment methods of Tesco vis--vis your organization. (Note that this question is not in the case study, this is an additional one.) Assessment Criteria: The student will be awarded a PASS grade if he / she Identifies the recruitment techniques used by Tesco. Is able to discuss the different uses of job descriptions. Suggest any other recruiting strategies by comparing the organization with ones current company. The student will achieve a MERIT if he / she along with the criteria for PASS; Uses a range of methods and techniques to collect information on the recruitment and selection practices in Tesco. Applies and analyzes detailed knowledge of recruitment methods.

Shows an individual approach in identifying the importance of job descriptions in the recruitment process as well as presents and communicates work coherently, using technical language fluently Makes clear recommendations and suitable suggestions for other recruitment strategies.
