Personal Profile
Capable of achieving personal objectives as evidenced by the completion of my degree and near-completion on my PhD. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as graphics skills. I have worked with a variety of people in communication and support roles and feel that my interpersonal skills are a strength. I am keen to find a challenging role in which I can combine my technical, academic and graphic experience in a dynamic and creative way.

Skills Profile
Communication and Team Work Experience communicating with children and adults in public-sector settings. Ability to communicate my research in written and verbal form (at seminars and conferences). Working as part of a team within a public library, and with peers as a research student. Distributing my self-published magazine to interested groups and incorporating their responses in future editions.

Problem-solving Identifying research questions and successfully constructing an investigation in the form of my undergraduate dissertation and postgraduate thesis (pending). Identifying and filling a niche: my bi-annual magazine about childrens literature, Zillions!, is distributed through local libraries and is available online. It has a regular readership of approximately 250. I have devised play activities as part of a summer job taking advantage of the local setting. For example, I devised a nature trail for the High Peak with the names of plants and animals also presented in Braille format.

Interests and Activities


I enjoy both reading and creative writing. As well as working as a play-leader, I enjoy volunteering as a befriender. I like to go camping and to music festivals in the summer, and am a keen cyclist.
