Indefinite adjectives and shortened adjectives
Indefinite adjectives are the words for all (todo), some (alguno), none/any (ninguno), such (tanto), each (cada). In Spanish they must agree with their noun, except for cada which never changes. Todo means all and must agree with its noun. Todos estos nios tienen potencial. All these children have potential. Pas toda su vida trabajando por la igualdad de las mujeres. He/she spent his/her whole life working for the equality of women. Alguno means some and must agree with its noun. It drops the -o ending and gains an accent when it is placed before a masculine singular noun: Algunas poblaciones se desplazan. Some people are forced to move. algn afortunado some lucky person Ninguno means none and must agree with its noun. Like alguno, it drops the -o ending and gains an accent when it is placed before a masculine singular noun. Note also that it is never used in the plural, because it means not one. No tienen ningn sueo, ninguna esperanza. They dont have any dreams, any hopes. Tanto means such or so many. It must agree with its noun. It shortens to tan before adjectives. Hay tantos nios viviendo en las calles. There are so many children living in the streets. Hay un nmero tan alto There is such a high number Cada means each and never changes. Cada individuo es capaz de hacer algo para ayudar. Every individual can do something to help.

Shortening of adjectives: Other adjectives that lose their final -o before masculine nouns are bueno, malo, primero and tercero. Es un muy buen proyecto. Its a very good project.
