Congratulations to the young people of the Parish who received their First Communion last Sunday. We thank the parents for their cooperation. Special thanks to Lisa Schechter, Director of Religious Education and the Second Grade Catechists: Kati Russell, Lori Giuliani, Susan Chieffo and Kim Miller. We thank Carol Ann Bradley, Debbie Frantz and Liz Shannon for providing such lovely music. Let us all encourage these young people to deepen their love for Jesus present in the Holy Eucharist through our example. Debbie Frantz, our music intern, completes her year with us this weekend. She has done outstanding work assisting with directing the Adult Choir, working with the children in the Sunday morning Religious Education Program, and helping Carol Ann with administrative tasks. Debbie will graduate this week from Trinity Lutheran Seminary with a masters degree in church music. We are in the first week of the Bishops Annual Appeal Campaign. This years theme is Proclaiming Christ, Serving Our Neighbor. Our goal is $55,918; the total pledged so far is $17,850. We have received 14 pledges which represents $1,275 per average gift. Your gift supports works of Charity, Evangelization, Education, Spirituality & Social Outreach in the Diocese of Columbus. OLV Parish benefits from these ministries. Please note that any
amount pledged over our goal will be returned to the Parish. Please remember that no gift is too small.

Parish Council serves as a consultative body to our pastor, Msgr. Ciotola. We will be electing 3 new members to replace 3 outgoing members. This is a 3-year commitment and a stewardship opportunity for parishioners. Please carefully consider these 5 nominees. Election days are Saturday, May 19 and Sunday May 20. You will be asked to place your ballot in the collection basket during any of the weekend masses or in the basket in the vestibule of the church. Any parishioner 18 years or older can/should vote.
Melissa Koon My kids and I have been members of the parish since 2002 when we moved here from Texas. My sister and brother-inlaw (Susan and Steve Chieffo) were married at OLV and it was an easy choice to join this happy and vibrant parish. I have a son who is a junior at Grandview High School and a daughter who is a freshman at Miami University. We have enjoyed an active relationship with the church through the years. With my kids more independent these days, I would like to take an even more active role in the parish and this parish council position would help me accomplish this goal. I would be honored to serve as a parish council member.
Mark Krantz I am very excited to have been nominated for Our Lady of Victory Parish Council to serve Msgr. Romano Ciotola and our congregation. I was born and raised in Massillon, Ohio where I served as an altar server and choir member at St. Marys Church. After receiving my BBA and MBA, I moved to Columbus. I am blessed to have met Gina, now my wife of 15 years. Gina and I have three children, Maria, Julia, and Marco, whom are enrolled in the religious education program as well as serve in the parish. We have been members of Our Lady of Victory for 5 years since 2007. I served on the Religious Board at Saint Agatha Church from 2005 to 2007. I have been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1999. I was a Director of the Upper Arlington Civic Association from 2007-2009. My wife and I are active in Vacation Bible School and are Catechists of the Religious Education Program and Impact. Our family actively volunteers in various parish activities and missions. I look forward to serving the parish of Our Lady of Victory Church if elected to parish council.
Jesse Oddi Our Lady of Victory has been a major part of my life for more than 50 years. I attended grade school at OLV from 19551963. My wife, Elaine and I, have been parishioners for most of our 40 plus years of marriage. Our three children attended CCD classes at OLV and 3 of our grandchildren have been baptized here. I am presently co-chair of our fish fry, co-chair of our parish festival, and treasurer for the OLV Knights of Columbus Council. Elaine and I are Eucharistic ministers to the shut-ins. I also serve on the Building and Grounds Committee. It is an honor to run for Parish Council. If blessed enough to be chosen, I will energetically serve our Parish Community.
Nancy Tarini My name is Nancy Tarini. My husband Steve and I have been members of Our Lady of Victory for over 2 years. I completed RCIA classes being sponsored by Camille Cenci in 2010. I was impressed by the openness and welcome by the congregation for myself and Steve. Steve and I have volunteered at the Lenten Fish Fries for the past 3 years and are ushers at the 5PM Mass on Saturdays. My other volunteer activities include volunteer coordinator for the Summer Festival and kitchen coordinator for the Womens Club Holiday Bazaar. I would consider it an honor and privilege as a good steward to be on Parish Council.
Andrea Tose I teach high school English for Columbus City Schools. I teach summer school, tutor virtual high school students, and teach about using data and technology in the classroom. My family and I participate in at many functions, ministries, and activities here at Our Lady of Victory. I taught religious education for 10 years. I am currently, a lector and Eucharistic minister for the 5:00 mass and fill in for other masses. My husband, Joe and son, Vince are ushers. Vince is a senior at St. Charles Preparatory and active in the theater. My daughter, Angelina, is an altar server, Trinity Elementary eighth grader, Grandview summer league participant, and was confirmed April 24th. The kids, Joe and I have participated in fish fries, festivals, feeding the homeless, and pitch in where ever we can. Joe grew up in this parish, so when we were married in 1990, it was natural that we stay with Our Lady of Victory parish. I would be honored to be part of the parish council.
