Mohseni February 8, 2012 Mrs. Andrews Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable to Him than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matthew 6:26-27. Over the years my relationship with God has grown in ways that I would have never expected. I have always had a relationship with God, however at some points in my life I didnt believe in him as much as I should have. Everything I read this verse, I get chills all over my body. I feel as if this verse is speaking to me and letting me know that God has me in his mind at all times and that he has not forgotten about me. I believe in the power of God. I believe that He knows it all. After all, He is the creator of the universe, the King to our Kingdom, and Our Father. Before I came to understand this concept I always wondered why things turned out to be the way that they are. Now that I have gotten older, my failures and experiences have allowed me not only to grow as a person, but they also have helped me understand the concept of life, which I believe is that God has a reason for everything that he does. With every little plan, or decision he has a whole list of why He is taking the action that He is. As a child I wondered why I couldnt be taller, why I didnt have a brother instead of a sister, or why this happened to me and not someone else. Everyone wonders about his or her life so it was normal; however, I regret questioning any of
Gobie Mohseni 5/9/12 11:43 PM Comment [1]: I chose to do this verse because this is my favorite verse of all time. When I read this verse, it gives me assurance that God has everything under control and he always has me on his mind. I feel that this verse relates with my belief statement because it portrays that God is taking care of everything and that we need to just leave it at that and just trust him instead of questioning him.

Gobie Mohseni 5/9/12 11:46 PM Comment [2]: In my old draft, I didnt have any explanation on the verse, I just jumped into my belief statement. However after reading over, I realized it made no sense and therefore I explained a little about my relationship with God. I didnt want to write to much about my relationship with God in the introduction because I wanted to save it for my body paragraphs. Gobie Mohseni 5/9/12 11:53 PM Comment [3]: When we first did the personal credo paper, I had a lot of beliefs and it was very hard for me to pick one. However thinking about which one to chose, I realized that God had a great impact on my life this year and that I wouldnt be where I am today if it wasnt for him. God has always been the center of my life, however this year I saw his power like never before and that is why I decided to make him the topic of my TIB.

Gods decisions. I believe that God makes each one of us different for various purposes and creates experiences for us so we can realize his reasons behind his actions. When I was a little kid, I loved playing soccer. All I did in my free time was run around and play with a soccer ball. Unlike other young girls, I didnt sit around and play with dolls. I couldnt sit still; I always stayed outside playing soccer. As I got older, my passion for soccer remained the same; however, I started becoming lazier and lazier and I didnt practice as much as I should have. I was taking my talent to play a wonderful sport for granted and I didnt understand that until the game against our rivals when I got hurt. After that game, I wasnt able to play club soccer anymore because I hurt my knee and club soccer was going to put too much pressure on it. That day I couldnt believe what had happened. I wasnt able to play the sport that I love; I had lost my chance forever. When I was able to play and go to every practice and game I didnt appreciate being healthy and being able to play; instead, I complained and complained about all the running I had to do or that a game was at the same time as a birthday party. I was able to play soccer in high school and I am very fortunate of that. However, whenever I pass the soccer fields or the players, I remember when I used to have the dream of playing in college, yet I lost that chance. Looking back I understand that God had me encounter this experience in my life for a reason. I do not think that God took away my ability to play soccer as punishment; but to learn from it. He saw that I was not appreciating a talent that I had been given and because of that He knew that I didnt deserve it, which is why it was taken away from me. My injury was a wake-up call and it opened my eyes to all

Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:18 AM Comment [4]: Another belief statement that I truly believe in is that if one does not appreciate what God has given him/her, He will take it away in a blink of an eye. However, I had a hard time connecting that with my main belief statement which is God has a reason for everything. I did have a choice to completely take this out; however, I did not want to do that because this is a very important concept in my life and I wanted to be able to share that with my readers. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:21 AM Comment [5]: My parents have always told me to appreciated what I have been given, however I truly didnt start believing this concept until my injury in soccer. This is one of the few events in my life that has had a big impact on me and my future and that is why it stuck with me all these years.

Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:26 AM Comment [6]: This paragraph was suppose to be all about taking things for granted and how it is not good. However when I got my paper back, it was brought to my attention that this paragraph took the attention away from main idea of my paper. Therefore to fix it, I decided to keep this statement but to make into a mini belief statement that connected to my overall one.

the blessings in my life and the numerous things I should be thankful for. Now I know that if I am not grateful I can lose everything within a blink of an eye. Not only do I believe that we need to appreciate everything that God has given us, I also believe that God has a reason for everything. I live my life in a way that I know that everything happens for a reason and therefore, I dont dare to question Gods work. No matter what the reason may be, I know that it is for the better. I came to this realization this past year. As a senior in high school, everything is hectic. Deciding on what colleges to apply to, the waiting, and finally deciding on where you want to go for the next four years of your life. For me this process was truly hard, especially since I had a lot on my list. However, my number one was UNC Chapel Hill. Unfortunately, I did not get in. I felt as if Chapel Hill was a mountain that I was trying to climb and all of it sudden my footing got messed up and I fell back to the bottom. I was devastated. After a while of feeling like a failure, I decided on attending the University of South Carolina. I actually became really excited about going there. I couldnt wait until the year was over so I could get to USC. My excitement for USC was so much that I couldnt stop talking about it. It was a couple days before our family vacation to California when I received news that I never thought was possible. I learned that for some odd reason I wasnt in the system for USC, which meant that I wasnt enrolled in the school or anything and I wasnt able to attend orientation to sign up for my classes. My parents and I did everything possible to fix this. The same thing happened to a close friend of mine who was going to USC as well; however, he was able to easily fix the problem. Yet, we seemed to run into problem after problem. We were tangled in this problem for a whole
Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:32 AM Comment [7]: In order for me to keep this section I had to have a bigger message out of this experience. So the message that I am trying to get out is that God does everything for a reason. The reason he had me get hurt was because he saw that I did more complaining about soccer than I actually enjoyed it. And to teach me a lesson he took that ability away from me. This section was very hard for me because I didnt want to make God seem evil and make the reader think that I was resenting Him because I am not. I did lose the chance to play soccer; however I was taught a lesson that will forever be with me and help me in the future so I dont have to lose more. Thinking about it, things could have gone much worse. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:44 AM Comment [8]: This is beginning of where reality was really hitting me and it made me realize that not everything is going to be easy, but there is a reason for it and God does have a plan for me. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:38 AM Comment [9]: I did try to make this sentence parallel, however as much as I tried it just sounded odd to me so I decided to leave it as it was. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 1:25 AM
Comment [10]: I attempted to use rhetorical devices and I did here, however I felt that I thought too much about using devices and so it took away my focus from the actual paper. As a result I decided to only do it if it came to me naturally.

month and still we got nowhere. The only thing that I got out of that was that I knew I wasnt going to South Carolina. It was a devastating feeling. I had to come to UNCC. UNCC was my last choice; it never even crossed my mind of me going there. My life was going on a completely different direction than I had wanted, and I wasnt the one steering it. Coming to UNCC, I wasnt at all excited. I didnt want to give it a chance. However once I got here, I came to get used to it; I found new friends, found clubs to join, I actually came to find myself really busy all the time. Even though, at the time it seemed like God hated me and wanted to ruin my life, I came to understand that He did that for a reason. He saw that my potential was higher than what I was settling for. He had a plan for me, which was for me to work hard at Charlotte so I could have the chance to transfer to UNC Chapel Hill. I know if I went to USC I would get settled down and I wouldnt want to transfer anymore. Another reason that I believe God wanted me to come to UNCC was for me to learn how to appreciate what God does for me. God never really left my life; however, my life came to a point where I was expecting God to do everything for me and I wasnt even appreciative of it. When my life didnt go as I wanted, I became a brat and complained and blamed God for my problems. Luckily, once I came to Charlotte I was able to open my eyes and see how wrong I have been. At this school I have met some of the best people just being here for one semester. The people that I have met have changed my life exponentially. I have always maintained a relationship with God, however there have been moments in my life where I have gotten lost and lost the true passion that I have for him. Now that passion is with me at all times and it is because of my surroundings. My friends have not only brought me closer to God, but they have opened

Comment [11]: I tried to give as much detail in this part as possible because I wanted to make sure that he reader completely understood my situations. This is a very important part of the paper so I didnt want the readers to be confused at all.

Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:59 AM Comment [12]: Again I wanted the readers to be in my shoes so I put my emotions and feelings as much as possible. However, I didnt want to do too much because it would have taken the focus away from the main point of the paragraph. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 12:43 AM Comment [13]: My belief didnt necessary grow once I got here, I was just more in touch with myself and God. God has been a very part of my life. However, I wasnt in touch with reality and I thought nothing bad happened to me and once it did I was shocked. Again, the experience allowed me to grow and develop as a person, which goes back to my main belief statement which states that God does everything for a reason and it is very evident to why he did not want me to go to USC.

my eyes to His great works. With out them I would have never come to this realization. I believe that once one door closes, two more open for the better. He knows that the pathway that one is going through is not the right one which is why the door is shut closed. He wants us to take that as a sign and look for the other opportunities that He has created. I believe that God has the best interest for every single one of us. He doesnt have the same plan for every one; they are all different from one another. Even though at some points in my life I feel that God has forgotten about me, I now know that is not the case. I realize that he is just making big plans for my future. I believe that I am not always going to understand everything that God does and why, which is why I just have to trust him. God has everyone and every single thing on his mind. From the birds to the human race God has everything under control and has a plan for all. I believe that it is wrong to question what God does for us. I believe that He has the best interest for us. I believe that God has it all under control and we should let Him do what He wants and not question His work. Even though, at times, our lives seem to be going horribly wrong and we have no control of it, just know that God has a plan.

Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 1:19 AM Comment [14]: The reason I tried to be so personal in this paper was because I wanted to make sure that I had an authentic voice and the readers truly felt the pain that I went through. I dont want this paper to seem like a bunch of lies when really its all actuality. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 1:03 AM Comment [15]: Here I wanted to have a bunch of different I believes to get my idea to come out strong. I used anaphora because I felt that if I kept repeating the I believes, it would really stick to the reader. I want to make sure that when the audience reads my paper, they at least will always remember this part even if they dont remember anything else. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 1:05 AM Comment [16]: It was suggested that I mention my quote again in my conclusion so that my paper ties back all together and in a way make it go in a complete circle. I did try to do that, however I dont know if it is that effective or good. Gobie Mohseni 5/10/12 1:16 AM
Comment [17]: I really enjoyed doing this paper a lot. I was very happy to do this because my best work come out of doing personal topics and this was a very personal topic, which made it a lot easier for me to do. Also, the topic is about something that I am truly passionate for. In one year, I had experienced many obstacles and although it was hard, I was able to get through them. Because I was so proud of what I had accomplished and figured out, I really wanted to share it with someone. My main goal with this paper is to reach to people who feel that God has forgotten about them and feel that everything in their life is just going downhill. I want to tell those people that there is a light at the end of the road and it is just taking time because God is planning something amazing for their future. I was once one of those people, although it did take me a while to realize I came to understand that God was working his magic for me. He knew what he was doing from the start. He doesnt make any mistakes and doesnt do anything without having a reason. I may not always know the reason but I am willing to trust God because he has not let me down in the past. Although this paper was a lot easier from the papers that I have done before, I did have a lot of struggles with it. My first final was all over the place and I did not have one main belief statement. I had a couple statements that I was passionate for, ... [1]
