Regardless of the answer, creation is the quintessential element to understanding the world and the human mind. There are few pieces of media that directly relate the ambition of creating something to a deeper part of a humans personality. Its not always so easy to spot though. The main character (appropriately named Hugo) engages in an internal conflict of not knowing his true purpose in life. He says something rather profound, denoting this pursuit: Id imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts you know. He doesnt know what it is that he is alive to create; one feels lost without a purpose. Hugo has a very direct link to creation and the role it plays in the world, but there are many other stories that are quite largely impacted by the pursuit of some sort of creation by a character within the story itself. Take the non-fiction novel Night for example. It outlines a Jews story through WWII in German concentration camps, in nightmarishly vivid detail. It is hard for humans to grasp the profoundness in the happenings of mere objects because their actions are not driven by neurological pathways and DNA coding. There are multiple realms into which a person could delve to discuss this topic: World War II (understanding the minds of the world leaders via their war goals), NASAs space exploration (such a remarkable organization gives insights into an entire nations endeavor), the American Civil Rights Movement (the players of which were very advocating individuals), and etc. Put simply, noticing what someone is attempting to create of themselves, or of the world around them, can be an indispensible insight into their minds.
