Dear Parents -

The Olympic theme is well underway and the staff and children are working towards a

Greek Focus Day on Friday 1st June. There will be a programme of events to follow and family and friends are invited to "pop-in" during the day to see what the children have been learning. The Key Stage two children enjoyed their visit from the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and asked lots of questions about the Queen. We will be celebrating the Queen's Jubilee with a street party style picnic lunch using our new trestle tables and benches. Many thanks to SCPA who have donated some money towards the costs. Food is available to order from Food with Thought and we are hoping the weather will have improved and we can eat lunch outside followed by some fun and games on the field. ABSENT FROM SCHOOL?

If your child is absent from school for any reason, please dont forget to let us know. Absences are recorded in our registers with the appropriate reason code, i.e illness, holiday, medical appointment etc. Where no reason is given the absence is recorded as unauthorised and may be investigated by the Educational Welfare Officer. Thank you so much for all the vouchers which have been handed in to school. We are delighted that we collected 3070 vouchers and have placed an order for:Tennis balls / double dutch skipping ropes / French skipping ropes / rip tag / rounders post & base set / scoop set / cricket balls / large post / action trainer . All being well these should be with us before the end of the summer term for all the children to enjoy at playtime and/or in PE lessons. We were however unable to order the eye masks to use for our paralympic activities if anyone has or knows anyone who would be happy to donate any this would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

YEAR 2 MINI OLYMPICS FESTIVAL

Congratulations to the Year 2 children who took part in the Mini Olympics activity at Burford Secondary School last week. The children worked in groups with the other partnership schools and enjoyed running, throwing, catching, hurdles to name a few Olympic activities. As always, it was great to see the children enjoying and embracing the activities - well done to you all!

YEAR 6 RESIDENTIAL TO THE PIONEER CENTRE 2013

If your family eats Nestle cereals, please remember to tear off the token on the top of the box and bring it in to school. It takes as little as 10 tokens to get one book so the more tokens we collect the more books we can receive for school. We are already looking to place an order and thank you to the kind parent who handed in a bagful of tokens!

My child/ren usually has a school lunch and would like to be included in the Diamond Jubilee Picnic Lunch. I will pay for the lunch in the usual way. My child/ren does not usually have a school lunch but would like to have a Diamond Jubilee Picnic Lunch and I enclose payment of 2.10 for my child/ren.
