502 Curriculum and Instruction Curriculum Map: 10th grade Global History Unit: World War II Curriculum Map The unit consists of several activities and lessons related to World War II. Consideration was given to the core content standards for 10th grade Global Studies as well as the core content standards for the core content standards for English Language Arts. There is an additional activity at the end of the unit if time permits focusing on the Holocaust. I have included the lesson in this unit because the Holocaust was a big part of the war. This activity could also be included in other Global History Units. This lesson could be inserted in a unit focusing on only the Holocaust or Units focusing on Human Rights and Civility. Additions / Revisions: New York state mandates will focus more on English Language Arts and Math for all curriculums. With this fact in consideration I have worked on developing addition lessons with the core English Language Arts standards as part of the lesson. The importance of reading is extremely understated. It is one of the building blocks of nearly all learning and necessary for progress in life. Because of this I have increased the amount of reading related lessons for the curriculum map. I also explored and researched topics to further explore Adolf Hitler, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, as well as your request for cause and effect.
