Mercy, Have Mercy

Two thieves hung on a cross, each one beside Jesus Christ. Each thief had a testimony and its meaning was precise. One man saw another man who did no evil, but was served A death sentence for a rap that He did not deserve. The man he saw on the cross was no thief and no liar, And certainly not one who was worthy of hells fire. Yet, He hung there on a cross, with two thieves in view And was crucified for some crimes that He did not do. To one thief, the thought of getting help at this time was absurd.

But the other thief was spared because he heard Christs every Word. Since even hanging on the cross, of Calvarys tree Jesus still brought light and hope, so that a dying thief could see. Jesus opened up the door to Paradise and let him in, Even though this man had committed terrible sin. When He saw the Savior, he knew Christs mission well And knew that when he died he was going to be in hell. So he reached for something that we all one day will need and came to understand that this friend was his friend indeed. Mercy was his friend when all else failed and came across When this man needed it most Cause he was found, not lost. He repented of his sins by acknowledging his wrong, And refused to sing to Jesus the other thiefs song. Mercy showed up and out, when needed the most, Even for a thief who surely had no cause to boast. Mercy was his friend because time and mercy were given Justifiable means for this man to keep on living.

Yet the other man on the cross was dying the same way And he has some hateful words that he did display, As if he had no mercy and did say what he did say. He acted as if Jesus merited what they received and got His just do without consequences to retrieve. The man who was given mercy did speak and was right, when he said Jesus did not deserve this vicious plight. Jesus responded with mercy and told the thief on the right side Today you will be in Paradise. His sin found a place to hide. On that great day, a sinner was given liberty, That we may know that the grace of God is free. It will erase all my sins when faith is the key that allows us to access mercy because if we gave mercy the place that it was looking for, so long then we chose to let it help us and forgive us of our wrong. Mercy was the difference between pardons for the two. One man said Yes, Mercy, yes mercy, I do know you. But the other man had a totally different view,

Since this was something he simply could not do.
