NDE- DAZZLING CAREER PROSPECTS TO YOUNG ENGINEERS Non Destructive Evaluation-NDE plays a vital role on the quality compliance of Engineering Products and also confirms their effective services. Nowadays, all Engineering sectors understood its importance and hence uses it as an effective tool in promoting the quality of the components by the way of supporting design, manufacturing and operation of industrial equipment. As all quality and safety critical installations require the use of NDT, there is a huge requirement of NDE Technicians that leads to bright future in career path and also acquisition of specific knowledge of NDT methods and procedures. To enlighten the prosperity of young Engineers and to guide and in directing them towards bright and better career path, Anna University, Society of Mechanical Engineers of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Indian Society for Non Destructive Testing, Chennai Chapter, are jointly conducting the Workshop for two days Wednesday, 28 March & Thursday, 29th March 2012. This event addresses students and staff of Anna University and their affiliated colleges around Chennai. It is meant to explore the prevailing career opportunities in Core Industries who have enriched knowledge in Non Destructive Testing and Evaluation. THEORY SESSIONS The workshop has been designed for two days consisting of both practical & theory sessions. The prominent reputed persons from various reputed organization and academicians in NDT field with rich experience for several decades have consented to deliver lectures on the important aspects of NDT and the career prospects in various fields like Space, Nuclear, Thermal, Automobile and Research & Development etc. PRACTICAL SESSIONS NDT equipment manufacturing companies and NDT service providers at Chennai have come forward to demonstrate the evaluation of defects with the aid of NDT equipment. The elaborate Practical manifestation will be carried out in two day Programme in the afternoon session on each day at Central Workshop of Anna University. This will give an opportunity to the students to have a first hand experience on practical NDT applications. The organizers plan to bring out a compilation of NDT resources on CD that gives out an overall view of the field.
