First Meeting:

WHY ARE PEOPLE UNHAPPY?

" For all Have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Why are people unable to find happiness? People are afflicted with many problems: family problems, economic problems, mental problems, and career problems. Some turned to dancing, drinking, or gambling in a desperate pursuit of happiness, only to deeper into despair. Why?

1. PEOPLE ATE SEPARATED FROM GOD.

(1)

Because of their disobedience they do not know God(John10:10, Rom.3:23)

(John 10:10) "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (Rom 3:23) "For all Have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (2)

They have fallen into a state of sin(Rom.3:10)

(Rom 3:10) "As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;"

(3) They have fallen into affliction. They have mental affliction(Mt.11:28)
(Mt. 11:28) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Their lives lack equilibrium(Mt.12:25)

(Mt. 12:25) Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

They suffer from physical distress/illness(Acts8:7, 10:38)

(Acts 8:7) With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. (Acts 10:38) how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

The true cause of all of these are rooted in their spiritual conditions. (4) In order to find answers to these problems, they seek evil spirits and other religions(ex. Horoscope, psychics, fortune tellers, Astrology, numerology, etc.). Still no fulfillment, only dissatisfaction persists.

2. THE BIBLE TELLS US WHEN THIS UNHAPPINESS BEGAN.

(1) It started in the days of Adam and Eve when the history of human beings began. The true cause: disobedience "Original sin"(Gen.3:1-15)
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" 2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'" 4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman.

- 4 -

5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?" 10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid." 11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" 12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." 13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." 14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, "Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." (2)

The result: a broken relationship with God(Gen.3:16-19)

16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you." 17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. 18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."

3. HOW LONG DOES THE UNHAPPINESS LAST?

(1)

It continues even now (Eph.2:1-2)

1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

(2) It will continue to exist (Mt.11:28-29)

28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

(3) It gets worse in spite of our endeavors to solve the problem (Mt.12:43-45)
43 "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."

4. WHY DOESN'T THIS UNHAPPINESS EXTINGUISH?

(1) There is a being that causes unhappiness. (2) What is his name? Let's study his name. Satan, Devil, Evil Spirit, Demon (3) When did he appear? An angel became corrupt and fell from heaven (Eze.28:14-19)
14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. 16 Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones.

- 5 -

17 Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. 18 By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. 19 All the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.'"

He was thrown out from heaven hurled into the air (Eph.2:2)

2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

He roams about the earth to ruin and destroy its inhabitant. Eventually, he retreats into hell (Mt.25:41)
(Mt. 25:41) The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here.

5. WHAT IS THE STATE OF THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW GOD?

(1)

Child of Satna (John 8:44)

(John 8:44) "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (2)

Suppressed by sin, death, and Satan (Eph.2:1,2)

1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. (3)

No joy and peace, mental sufferings (Eph.2:3)

3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. (4)

Physical sufering (Acts 8:7, 10:38)

(Acts 8:7) With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. (Acts 10:38) how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. (5)

Spiritual death (Lk.16:19-31, Rev.14:9)

(Lk. 16:19-31) 19 "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' 25 "But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.' 27 "He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.' 29 "Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.' 30 "'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.' 31 "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'" (Rev. 14:9) 9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, (6)

Inheritance (Exo.20:4-5, I Cor.10.20)

(Exo 20:4-5)

- 6 -

4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, (1 Cor.10:20) 20 No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons.

6. THE PEACE WHICH THE WORLD GIVES IS MOMENTARY.

(1) (2) (3) (4) It It It It is worldly. is carnal. is for pleasure. causes greater unhappiness.

- 7 -

Second Meeting:

"WHY CAN'T HUMAN BEINGS MEET GOD?"

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12)

The reason why people are unhappy is because they are separated from God. Living apart from God is filled with unhappiness. Then why can't people meet God?

1. WE HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM GOD.

(1) Our spirits are dead (Eph. 2:1) (2) This means that God's spirit has left us. In the beginning God created us and His spirit was us (Gen.1:27) After fall, God's spirit departed and people became spiritually dead. Without the sacrifice of blood, sinners would be judged those in sin Knowledge and wisdom are even darkened and thus, we can't see God's truths (2 Thes. 2:10-11) Even though we receive the gospel, we can not understand it (2 Cor. 4:4-5)

(Cain)

2. PEOPLE STRUGGLE IN ORDER TO MEET GOD.

(1) Spirit can exist only in human beings, so there is a natural longing to seek the Lord. (2) People believe that if they live truthful lives then they will meet God. They fail to do so. (3) People believes that if they have any religion and follow its rituals then they will meet God (Mt. 12:43-45) (4) They try to meet God philosophically but they fail and once again sink deeper into hopelessness (Col. 2:8-9) (Hollow & deceptive philosophy; this is based on human tradition and basic principles of this world.) (5) People's intelligence, wisdom, and knowledge are useless before God. Buddha said, "When Jesus comes, the knowledge that I've acquired, will be like a lamp without oil." (It is words of Rev. Jin Kyu Kim, who had been Buddhist for 18 years and converted.) Buddhist Sung Chul said, " O come, Satan! I respect and worship you. You are originally holy buddha: (Cho Sun Daily News). (6) Because people do not know what original sin is, they cannot meet with

- 8 -

God.

3. THOSE WHO ARE NOT SAVED CAN NOT MEET GOD.

(1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) First we must be saved to know God. We must be born again to see God (Jn. 3:3-5) Salvation means to be freed from Satan's bondage. Salvation means to be freed from sin. Salvation means to be freed from Hell. Hell is where Satan's children go. (Mt. 25:41) Heaven is where God's children go.

4. A DEAD PERSON CAN'T MOVE, LIKEWISE, A DEAD SPIRIT'S EFFORTS ARE USELESS.
(1) change (2) him. (3) The efforts of a person who is not saved is useless. His efforts may some physical aspect of himself, but his spirit is still dead. No matter how good his actions are, they are still not enough to save No one can enter heaven by the things of the world.

5. WHY ARE OUR EFFORTS INSUFFICIENT FOR SALVATION?

(1) We can't revive our spirit through own effort. (2) We can't revive our spirit with the help of others. (3) The hero who conquers the devil has not yet been sent to the earth (Acts 4:12) (4) Salvation comes by the grace of God (Eph. 2:8)

- 9 -

Third Meeting:

"HOW CAN WE MEET GOD?"

"Jesus answered, 'I am .the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" (John 14:6)

1. GOD IS SPIRIT.
(1) (2) limited (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) Since God is spirit, we can not see Him with our eyes. Therefore, He is not limited by anyone. It is not God but idols that are by men. Demons are in those idols (1 Corinthians 10:20) Since God is spirit, He is omnipresent. He is omniscient. He is omnipotent. Therefore, we call Him Jehovah. Because people are spiritual beings. meeting with God means salvation (Is. 40:18-31)

2. PEOPLE, HOWEVER, HAVE PHYSICAL BODIES.

(1) (2) (3) (4) Therefore, we cannot see God. Human spirit is confined to the physical body. Death is when the spirit leaves the body. Opportunity for salvation exists only when the spirit is within the body

and

when we are alive (Luke 16:19-31)

3. THE WAY TO MEET GOD.

(1) God who is spirit came down to earth in human form to save us (John 1:14) (2) Therefore, He was without sin and His spirit is God (1 Corinthians 15:45) (3) He is Jesus Christ. (4) Jesus has both divine and human nature (Matt. 16:16-19) Messiah (Christ) - Savior, God Son of God - image of man (5) Receiving Jesus Christ is meeting God (John 1:12, Revelations 3:20) (6) When we receive Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit(Jesus Life) dwell within This is salvation(John 14:16, 26-27) (7) At this time, the devil's power goes away forever. (8) Let's pray that we truly accept Jesus Christ (Rm. 10:10)

us.

- 10 -

4. EVIDENCE THAT GOD IS WITH US

(1) When the Holy Spirit dwells within us, He will guide us along righteous paths (John 14:26-27) (2) When we receive the Word and new life according to the purpose of God, we receive the Holy Spirit's guidance. Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12) Our spirit lives when we accept the words of God (Psalms 119:25) (3) When we repent of our sins, we receive the Holy Spirit's guidance (Ps. 66:18, Gal. 5:16-18) (4) We can have power and strength when we pray. Pray sincerely and set a specific time. Set specific topic and don't give up - pray continually until we receive an answer from God. Pray at anytime. (5) Since we are no longer in Satan's reign, he disturbs us by sending his demons. Therefore, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) (6) When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we receive power (Acts 1:8) Over self (self-control; time management....) Against world Over Satan (7) Opportunities to preach the gospel occur. (8) The result that God is alive is revealed through miracles and signs. (9) Can you understand John 14:6? ONLY JESUS!

- 11 -

Fourth Meeting:

"WHY IS JESUS THE ONLY WAY FOR US?"

" He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appears was to destroy the devil's work"(1 John 3:8)
1. MANY PEOPLE CAN'T DISTINGUISH SALVATION FROM LIFE.
(1) People think that all religions are the same. (2) People believe that the purpose of religion is to live a "good" life. (3) People believe that the way to salvation is to do good. (4) Christianity is not a religion but life itself. (5) Religion is created by man but the gospel is given by God. (6) Religion concerns man's search for truth, but the gospel concerns God's revelation. (7) The standard of religion is people's deeds, but that of gospel is God's salvation.

2. PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW THE CONDEMNED STATE OF ONE WHO NOT SAVED.
(1) "Original sin" refers to the condition of one who is not saved (Romans 3:10, 23) (2) This means that we are under the power of Satan, who appears in Genesis 3 (Eph.2:2-3) (3) Condemned state(of one who is not saved) is a dreadful state. The spirit receives the spirit of Satan. The spirit is condemned. Therefore, they resort to idol worshipping, pagan sacrifices, superstition, psychic readings, and other religions. They continue in their suffering and face eternal condemnation (Rom.1:21-23) (i) They fail in all of their attempts and pass away. (ii) Destruction continues until the 3rd and 4th generations (Ex. 20:4, 5) (iii) The body suffers from mental and physical illnesses (Mt.8:16-17) They are destined to enter hell (Lk.16:19-31, Rev.14:9)

IS

- 12 -

3. THE ONE AND ONLY SAVIOR

(1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) beings (9) He has the power to defeat Satan's authority. He must have a human body (Jn.1:1, 14) But he must be sinless (Heb.4:15, 1 Peter 3:18) He must not simply be descendant of Adam (Jesus is from Mary, through Holy Spirit) The one without sin must die for sin (Gen.2:17) He must resurrect from death to reveal His deity (1 Cor.15:3-5) He is Jesus Christ. Only Jesus who is Lord can defeat Satan's authority and save human (Ph.2:6-9) The power of Jesus Christ is verifiable even today (Acts 16:16-18)

4. WHAT IS SALVATION? (Ep.2:1-6)

(1) Salvation is freedom from condemnation. Original sin - sin that results in eternal punishment (Ep.2:1) Sin from actions - sin that results from original sin; it occurs daily in our lives. Sin of ancestors - sins of idolatry are passed down from ancestors (Ex.20:4) (2) Emancipation from Satan's power and destiny (Ep.2:2) (3) We are seated in the heavenly realms (Ep.2:6) (4) Proof of God's existence (Ep.2:7)

* Do you understand 1 John 3:8?

- 13 -

Fifth Meeting:

"WHY DON'T I HAVE ASSURANCE?"

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life" (1 John 5:11-13)

Many church goers often admit that they do not have assurance of salvation. There are many so called "Christians" who live without assurance. Why do they live without this assurance? We need to find the answer to this question. 1. IT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE NEW LIFE OF THOSE WHO ARE SAVED.
(1) Being saved (receiving salvation) means confessing and accepting Jesus Lord and Savior with our mouths, our minds and our heart (John 1:12, Rev.3:20, Rom.10:10) (2) Regardless of our own power, the Holy Spirit guides those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. This is life with the Spirit (Rom 8:2, 1Cor.3:16, 12:3) (3) What is the state of those who do not have the Holy Spirit in their lives? It is the state in which the Holy Spirit has left Adam and Eve. Satan controls people's spirits (John 8:44, Act 10:38) There is no peace, even with a great deal of worldly possessions and wealth (Mt.11:28) Even if they seem successful, They continue to struggle in unending battles (Matt 12:25) Their bodies are under the control of the devil without their knowledge (Eph 2:2-3) The time will come when even their bodies become sick (Act 8:4-8) They suffer both mentally and emotionally (Act 16:16-18) When they leave this earth they will enter into hell (Lk. 16:19-31) as

- 14 -

2. IT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE BLESSINGS OF THOSE WHO ARE SAVED.
(1) Those who are saved are freed from sin and suffering (Eph 2:1) original sin self-inflicted sin ancestors' sin (2) They are freed from the world's burdens and Satan's power (Eph 2:2) (3) They are eternally set free from Hell (Eph 2:6) (4) They will be witness the "incomparable riches" of God's grace (Eph 2:7)

3. IT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE PRIVILEGES OF THOSE WHO ARE SAVED(MATT 16:13-20)
(1) The privilege of spreading the gospel is given only to the believers. He will make them strong like a rock (sanctification) He will allow us to build churches (salvation) (2) The privilege of defeating Satan is given only to the believers. They fight against Satan in spiritual battle (1 Pet 5:8) They stand firm to the last (Lk 18:5) (3) The privilege of praying to God and receiving answers is given only to believers. The apparent blessings of the non-believers come from Satan's power (Prov 16:4) The believers need to keep the key of prayer.

the

4. IT IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE WAY OF LIFE AS THOSE WHO ARE SAVED.
(1) Let's study how non-believers approach life. (2) Believers should be guided by the Holy Spirit (Jn 14:26-27) We must cast our anxieties upon him (1 Per 5:7) Until we surrender ourselves totally to God, we will not find ourselves (Gal 2:20) We must throw away our hidden desires. Our own efforts always end in defeat (Acts 5:1-10) (3) In order to be guided by the Holy Spirit.... Jesus Christ must be the center of our lives (2 Cor 5:17) Prayer must be the first priority (Act 16:13, 16) The purpose in life must be to spread the gospel (Act 1:8)

- 15 -

Sixth Meeting:

"HOW AM I CHANGED AFTER SALVATION?"

"But God has revealed it to us by Spirit. the deep things of God. The Spirit searches all things, even

The man without the Spirit does not accept the

thing that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolish to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1Cor. 2:10, 14)
In order to save His people, God brought together the eternal plan of heaven and earth. He came upon earth as man(Jn 1:14), shed his blood on the cross, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. His spirit now dwells and works in our lives. Most people, however, misunderstand the meaning of salvation.

1. WHAT ARE SOME MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT SALVATION?

(1) "Having any religion is salvation." (Jn 3:1-10) Religion is different from the gospel. People create religion but God gives the gospel. The purpose of religion is to live a good virtuous life. This life cannot be attained through religion; people who are not saved and are spiritually dead cannot lead spiritually good lives. (2) "Attending church is salvation." (Matt 12:43-45) Attending church may provide order and purpose for some people. Satan, however, can attack at anytime by bringing greater suffering than ever before. (3) "Religious enthusiasm is salvation." The Pharisees gave great efforts to obeying the laws. People are devoted to serving other gods and/or religions. These efforts result in failure and disappointment. This enthusiasm is useless and insignificant before God. (4) "Philosophical convictions is finding salvation." Philosophical ideas created by human are "hallow and deceptive" and they mislead people. (5) "Memorizing prayers and reciting verses will lead to salvation." These physical acts do not result in spiritual changes. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. He invites us to rest our souls and find comfort in Him(Mat. 11:28-30)

- 16 -

2. WHAT THEN IS THE STATE OF BEING SAVED?

(1) Spiritual change takes place. (2) Being saved means that the Holy Spirit dwells within us and guides us. (3) Rom. 8:2 says that the Holy Spirit is life and also Jn 3:3-5 declares that no one can enter kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. (4) Jn 14:16-17 the Spirit of truth lives within me and nobody can cast Him out. (5) If we accept the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, Rom 8:2, 4, 9 the Holy Spirit fulfills the way of salvation and guides us in keeping the law. 1 Cor 2:10-14 we may know God's will, blessing, and grace. 1 Cor 3:16 we will know that we are God's temple and that God's spirit lives within us. Gal 5:16-18 the Holy Spirit teaches us and corrects our wrong doings. Jn 14:26-27 the Holy Spirit guides weak believers like us. Jn 14:27 the Holy Spirit leads us to peace. Rom 8:26 the Spirit gears our prayers. Rom 8:28 in all things, God works for those who love him (who have been called according to his good purpose).

3. HOW CAN WE SAVED?

(1) Living in Christ means that the Spirit(Life) of Christ is within us. (2) We must be born again of water and the Spirit. (3) Jn 3:14-16 there is only one way to believe in Christ.

4. FOUR CHANGES THAT OCCUR AFTER RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT.

(1) Change from being a child of Satan to being a child of God (Jn 8:44, JN 5:24) (2) Change from being a slave of sin to being a servant of God (Rom 6:17 Rom 6:22) (3) Change from being dead in sin to being alive in Christ (Eph 2:1 Eph 2:5) (4) Change from being led by Satan to being led by the Spirit (Eph 2:2 Gal 5:18)

5. HOW DOES GOD TREAT THOSE WHO HAVE NEW LIFE?

(1) He leads and sanctifies them (Jn 14:16, 26, Gal 5:16-18) (2) No one can defeat those who have life (Rom 8:31-39)

- 17 -

Seventh Meeting:

" HOW DO WE START LIVING FROM THIS POINT ON?"

" I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I an coming to you. Holy father, protect them by the power of your name-the name you gave to me- so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled" (John 17:11-12)
When we receive salvation, we have spiritual deliverance and freedom. we live in the world from this point on? How de

1. WE MUST REMEMBER THAT SATAN WILL CONTINUE TO EXIST UNTIL THE VERY END OF AGE.
(1) Only the Bible exposes Satan's conspiracy to ruin and destroy the earth's inhabitants. (2) In Gen 3:15, Satan has already been condemned; his head has been crushed. As he heads for his predestined doom, he "prowls like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" ( 1 Pet 5:8) (3) Satan will finally be destroyed on the final judgement day (Matt 25;41) (4) We must keep in mind that Satan uses the evil spirit of false prophets occultists, and demons to interfere with the believers. (5) We must overcome Satan through unceasing prayer (Eph 6:18) (6) Satan interferes with the home and attacks the family unit (Matt 12:28-29) (7) Satan roams to attack non-believers and people without conviction in Christ (1 Pet 5:8) (8) If you permit him once to have power over you, he will assault you again and again with seven times the power (Matt 12:44-45) (9) Satan causes unknown, incurable illnesses and diseases (Matt 8:15-17) (10) Satan causes chaos, confusion, and mental disorder (Mk 5:1-10, Act 16:16-18) (11) Satan flees from people with faith and assurance (James 4:7) (12) Satan looks to rest in a spiritually dry place (Matt 12:43-44) (13) He enter and lives in empty houses (Matt 12:45)

(14) Satan despises prayer and Bible reading (1 Thes 5:16-18) (15) Satan despises true worship to the Lord (Matt 4:8-11) (16) Satan fears those who keep the Lord's day and those who preach the gospel.

2. FIVE TRUTHS TO REMEMBER

(1) We must truly and deeply know Jesus Christ (Isa 53:5, 3Jn 1:2, 1Jn 3:8). Satan is bound by the name of Jesus. (2) Our faith in the power of the Lord who is the Father, Son, and the Spirit must grow deeper (Jn 3:16) (3) We must have Jesus Christ at the center of our hearts, families, and wherever we are. (4) We will be victorious when we confess and witness the name and power of Jesus Christ (Rom 10:9-10, Matt 10:32-33, 16:13-18, Act 2:21) (5) When Jesus is Lord over our lives, the Holy Spirit works within us, Despite our own strengths and weaknesses, the Holy Spirit moves us to do great and mighty works for the Lord (Act 1:8)

Eighth Meeting:

" WHEN IS GOD'S AUTHORITY REVEALED?"

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and reaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age'" (Matt 28:18-20)
We experience God's power and blessing when we fully understand ourselves and Jesus Christ. This understanding of self and Christ arrives once we accept the truths of our origin, present struggles and destination. 1. 7TRUTHS TO REMEMBER
(1) The original man, created in God's image shared an abundantly loving and peaceful relationship with God (Gen. 1:27) (2) Satan however, transformed human's Godly image into that of darkness and evil; therefore, the human spirit became dead (Gen. 3:1-10, Eph. 2:1-2, John 8:44) (3) Since then, we are constantly faced with failures, suffering and death (Gen. 3:11-20) (4) We stay on earth for a short while until we enter into our true eternal home: heaven or hell (Luke 16:19-31) (5) God greatly desires for us to be like him. In order to restore human's original likeness of God, Christ came to destroy the devil's work. (1 John 3:8) (6) Jesus Christ is both God and man (John 1:14, Phil 2:6-10) (7) Once we accept Jesus (Spirit of Christ), all of our problems will be resolved (Matt 11:28)

2. 3 BATTLES OF OVERCOME
(1) Battle against self. "Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32) When we entrust God with our circumstances and surroundings, He will reveal His great plans to us. We must seek God's purpose rather than our own. (Lord's Prayer) We must confess that God's plans are perfect (Romans 8:28-29) We do not benefit from our stubbornness and selfish desires. We must totally surrender ourselves to God (Gal. 2:20)
- 20 -

Jesus Christ who is holy is the truth. Life of holiness frees us from life of sin and death. (2) Battle against Satan - As we approach the end of the age, we must battle against Satan's deceptions. We cannot battle against Satan with our powers. However, the power and authority of Jesus Christ can always destroy Satan. God promised certain "rights" to his children (John 1:12) God has given us all the authority under heaven and earth (Matt 28:18) Evil spirits flee under God's power (Mark 1:27) Jesus came to destroy Satan's work (1 John 3:8) God answers our prayers (John 16:24) (3) Battle against the world - We must receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit to fight against the world. God has sent the Counselor to be with us forever (John 14:6) The Holy Spirit teaches and reminds us of everything (John 14:26-27) Since we have an anointing from the Holy One, we may know the truth (1 John 2:20-27) When the Spirit of God dwells within us, then the kingdom of God has come upon us an well (Matt 12:28) God promised that we will receive power (Acts 1:8)

3. WHEN CAN WE EXPERIENCE GOD'S POWER?

(1) We receive God's blessing when our sins are washed away and we become His children. (2) We will have power to overcome the three forces when we resolve our original sin. (3) In the midst of our suffering, misery, illness, and, depression, we may discover God's purpose for us. (4) We must discover God's purpose for us. (5) We must seek God's great and might plans for us in the midst of our present situations. (6) When we pray about His will for our lives, God will bestow great power upon us. (7) We may have victory and contentment only through Jesus Christ.

Ninth Meeting:

"PRAYER IS A SPIRITUAL SCIENCE"

Luke 11:5-13, 18:1-18 God, who is the authority and power, hears and answers our prayers. A sinner can neither communicate nor make requests to God. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ who is without sin; God answer our prayers (John 16:24)
1. HOW CAN NON-BELIEVERS RECEIVE ANSWERS TO THEIR PRAYERS? (1) All religions have rituals of prayers and meditations. Often non-believers receive answers, even when they worship and pray to: animals stones and trees pictures, photographs, written words man-made objects and vessels filled with evil spirits. Why do some occultists and non-Christians have supernatural powers to heal or prophesies? (The answer is in 1 Cor. 10:20 and Matt 24:11) (2) When non-believers pray with either good or bad intentions, they receive answers. Their ultimate consequence will always be destruction. (3) There are 3 ways in which God answers our prayers. He will grant exactly what we have requested. He answers by not granting the requests which are harmful or disadvantageous to us. God greatly desires to bless His children; therefore, he answers in a way that is most beneficial in the long run.

2. GOD GIVES US THE PRIVILEGE TO RECEIVE ANSWERS TO OUR PRAYERS.

(1) We must be God's children. When we receive Jesus Christ, we become God's children (John 1:12) (2) Jesus Christ is the power and authority. We must believe and pray in name of Jesus Christ (John 16:24) (3) By the power of the Holy Spirit, we must get rid of the sins in our hearts. These sins please Satan (Psalms 66:18) (4) We receive answers to our prayers when we are faithful (Luke 11:5-12) (5) We receive answers when we persevere (Luke 18:1-8) (6) When God answers our prayers, he first opens our minds and hearts (Phil 4:6-7)

3. AS CHILDREN OF GOD, WE NEED TO BE AWARE TO SEVERAL THINGS WHEN WE PRAY.

(1) (2) (3) (4) (5) Not my will but God's will be done Not my plan but God's plan Not my comfort but God's unrevealed plan Not a vengeful heart but a forgiving heart Must respond to God in obedience

4. PRAYER IS A SPIRITUAL SCIENCE.

(1) The Holy Spirit works within us when we pray (Luke 11:3, Matt 12:28) (2) Satan and his followers are destroyed when the Holy Spirit works within us (Matt 12:28-29) (3) When the Holy Spirit works within us, God sends his angles to fulfill his will Hebrews 1:14 Revelations 8:3-5 Daniel 10:10-20 (4) Our situations and surroundings begin to change (Esther 4:14) (5) God sends His people to help us (Acts 10:1-19) Genesis 18:2-15 (Abraham) 1 Kings 19:5-7 (Elijah) 2 Kings 6:13-17 2 Kings 20:1-10 (Hezekeah) Acts 1:10-11 Acts 5:19-20, 10:1-4, 12:1-10 Revelations 1:1-20

10th Meeting:

"HOW CAN WE BE HEALED THROUGH PRAYERS"

"When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. When evening came, many who sere demon possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: 'He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases'" (Matt. 8:14-17)
As Jesus healed the sick, he preached the gospel. Likewise, the apostles and the early churches healed the sick and spread the gospel. Jesus Christ in Mark 16:15-20 promises to those who believe in him, powers to heal others.

1. IN THE BIBLE, THERE ARE PROMISES OF HEALING.

(1) All who touch the Lord will be healed (Mk 6:56) (2) Jesus took up our infirmities and carried our diseases (Matt 8:17) (3) By his wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5)

2. WE MUST DISCOVER THE CAUSE OF OUR SICKNESS

(1) We may become ill through: over-exertion, over-work, transmitted diseases, old-age and poor care of the body. (2) The Bible gives 3 reason for our illnesses. These reason can't be treated by physicians or medications. Only spiritual treatment will cure the illnesses. Sins from our ancestors (i) The sin of idol worshiping is passed down to the 3rd and 4th generations. (Exodus 20:4, 2 Samuel 12:15) The names and reason for these illnesses are unknown and can not be treated. (ii) Original sin- The spirit is dead and therefore, the unbelievers are under God's curse. Any treatment to the illnesses are short-lived and eventually ineffective (Gen. 3:16-19)

- 24 -

(iii) Sins of our actions (2 Kings 5:27, 2 Chron 21:12-19, 1 Cor 5:15) Illnesses brought on by Satan (i) Mental (Mark 5:3-15) (ii) Emotional (Eph 4:23-27) (iii) Circumstances (Matt 12:25-28) (iv) Nerve (Mark 9:17, Luke 13;16) Illnesses given by God to fulfill his will (2 Cor 12:7, Dan 8:27)

3. FAULTY TREATMENT WILL CREATE MORE PROBLEMS. We will depend on:

(1) medicine and physicians (2) false religion and superstitions (3) We will care only about the flesh

4. WE MUST BE HEALED ACCORDING TO GOD.

(1) First, we must be healed spiritually. Accept Jesus Christ (John 1:12) Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18) (2) We must not continue to sin (James 5:13-16) (3) We must live in a surround which is holy and acceptable to God (Matt 12:25-29) (4) Then, we may begin the treatment to our bodies (James 5:13-14)

5. HOW DO WE ACT AFTER WE ARE HEALED?

(1) We must continue to be faithful (2) We must reflect our thankfulness in our actions and attitudes (3) We must share the healing we have received with others.
