The purpose of this study is to examine how customers product involvement affects the broader term of buying behavior in the context of furniture. Reason of this study is to determine the internal and external factors which are influencing the people to buy latest and unique design furnitures. Which type of decorative items they would like to have for their home? Does they buy because of the trends which are currently present or this is just their need to decorate their home with different furnitures?

AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF RESEARCH:

To examine the finished factors that affects the buying behavior of the customer to select the best furniture. To examine that how do consumers make household furniture purchase decisions. To examine major trends and its influential factors.

The principle object of this research is to determine the impact of fashion involvement on buying behavior in furniture. Their intentions towards the quality, need, cost and other major factors. To know the problems which the people face during shopping of different decorative items and what are the solution to these problems. Another objective is to examine that which type of furniture they prefer more and from which distributor or company they buy these products. For which particular area people prefer more furniture to buy e.g. for offices purpose, home decoration, school, university or elsewhere.

VARIABLES TO BE STUDIED:
DEPENDENT VARIABLE: Fashion Involvement on buying behavior. INDEPENDENT VARIABLES: Shopping orientation. Store image. Patronage. Social class.

PROPOSED HYPOTHESES:

SHOPPING ORIENTATION: HO: shopping orientation does not have an impact on the fashion involvement. H1: shopping orientation have an impact on the fashion involvement.

STORE IMAGE: HO: Store image does not enhance the impact of Fashion involvement on buying behavior. H2: Store image enhance the impact of Fashion involvement on buying behavior.

PATRONAGE: HO: Patronage does not enhance the affect buying behavior of furniture. H3: Patronage enhance the affect buying behavior of furniture.

SOCIAL CLASS: HO: Social class does not explains customer preferences and client behavior alongside products that shows lifestyle benefits. H4: Social class larger explains customer preferences and client behavior alongside products that shows lifestyle benefits.

DATA COLLECTION AND ITS TECHNIQUE:

The research is quantitative in nature and the main data was collected through circulating 100 questionnaires among different customers and with

the help of articles and work reviews. The survey is also taken in various well known distributors of furniture and decorative items. Data is analyzed to find significant factors which influence buying behavior of a customer. The respondents are both male and female of all ages. The questionnaire will be structured and the questions which will be there on the questionnaire would be about perception about decorating their homes, their views about current and upcoming trends and about quality and cost consciousness etc. Some interview based survey will also be conducted of the customers who will come for furniture shopping for their homes, offices etc. The survey will be conducted in different furniture markets and shops in Karachi such as Karimabad, Gulshan, Hyderi market, Zamzama. This study will take some weeks to get the full response from the respondents.

Design of the study:

This research is quantitative in nature and this technique will be done to evaluate the relationship between the dependent and independent variable of this research. The questionnaire is based on closed ended question because now a days people dont have time to answer the unstructured questions or open ended questions. So this will help to save their time and mine also. Simple questions regarding their interests, views about fashion, quality of furniture will be asked by the respondents. Scaling method based on 5 points will also be considered in the questionnaire to get to know the behavior of the customers towards the products. Statistical software will be used i.e. SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) through which all the data will be analyzed. SPSS is a computer program utilized for survey authoring and placement, scoring etc.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS STUDY:


This research will significantly aware the people about the previous, present and upcoming trends of the furniture and its buying behavior. This research would very much helps the people who want to decorate their newly bought house or a shop for any business or want to change the office environment. People will get to know about different types of decorative items which can utilize by them for a certain place.
