TASK Teacher Physical Education My preferred job would be a Physical Education Teacher where I would teach at a High School

l and teach student from years 8 to years 10 in how to maintain a healthy life, be fit and be involved in team sports. Depending on the age of the students will determine what game or physical program I would teach them. In a secondary school environment, the teacher generally has more defined programs in the curriculum to develop students strengths and encourage and build on their interests. WORK CONDITIONS -Week days 8.30 to 3.15 and also after school hours at home to plan for the next day and mark assessments -School trips camps, sports competitions, travel overseas, and some meetings that might be after school. You would have to work for at least 50 hours per week -You would have to work in extreme hot or cold it depends on what part of the state you are teaching -You would also have to work every Monday to Friday and in country towns become part of the weekend sporting activities. -You would have to learn at least 1 other course

PLAN B / CAREER PATHWAYS One of the ways is to do a bridging course at Murdoch uni. Then that will get you enough points to get into the course. You could go to Australian Fitness First Institute or TAFE and get accreditation to get into the course and University that you would give you the degree you want.

EDUCATION AND TRANING You would start at University for about 2 years then you would go to a school for about 1 school term and then you would finish the rest of the year at university and then you would go out and look for a job. Murdoch Is a 4 years full time internal study or part time equivalent. Location- South Street. Degree Bachelor of Health and Physical Education Notre Dame- 4 years full time or part time. Practicum -1080 hours Location- Freemantle

YEAR 11 AND 12 SUBJECTS To get into Murdoch uni- Human Bio 2a 2b , Maths 2a 2b and Pe Studies 2a 2b
To get into Notre Dame uni- Bachelor of Health and Physical Education

To get into UWA-Bachelor of Sports Science scaled score of 50 or above in at least WACE Mathematics 2C/2D (entry score of 80)

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNTIES You could apply to teh Department of Education for a job in a public school or look on the computer and look up jobs search and seek but the best way is to look in the in the West Australian or any other paper for jobs in the public school system..

ALTERNATIVE CAREER OPTIONS If I was not successful in getting into University I would like to be a personal trainer or a gym instructor, or I could do what I love the most and be a professional sportsman and play hockey in Holland and play international hockey for Australia.
