Leadership applies in various situations in our daily life whether being a leader of one or in an organisation setting where people

interact and work to achieve a certain goal. As people work together to attain their goals in various organisational setting it is vital to have an effective leader who engages in mind and heart based on that leader influence the entire team, organisation or department in its level of productivity influence by the social, emotional and psychological well being of people in the organisation. The importance of engaging the heart and mind is having emotional intelligence as a leader with self awareness, self confidence and optimism, that is able to effectively manage oneself and others emotions as it create emotional understanding that have an impact of peoples success and happiness in the organisation. In addition an good leader should apply democratic leadership where one builds team work and be considerate of peoples emotions and needs than be autocratic leadership which is more of dictatorship where one dont consider building good personal relationship. Critically a leader who involves a mind and heart on leading others lays down ones leadership by having an awareness on human integrity of being aware of peoples emotions, development, have social awareness of being interactive than command and control, lead with a passion that gives ones to be inspire and be intrinsically motivated to be productive on ones organisation or team groups. For example Dr Zaliha had a passionate heart as leader, who is mindful of peoples need by assisting disable people to adjust and cope in their daily life. Furthermore Dr Zaliha showed aspects of a leader that lead with mind and heart by having the passion to assist the disable people for example blind people to have a perceptive of the beauty of nature by taking time travelling, explaining and making the blind people to feel and smell what is in the environment which made them happy to enjoy the tour too. The

above example explain that Dr Zaliha have a caring heart for blind people to have a glimpse of how things look around in nature even though they cannot see the environment directly with their eyes, she took the initiative to explain to blind people what the environment look like so that they can be inspire about the beauty of nature too as a result that revealed the passionate and caring heart she has about other people. According to Centre for Creative leadership (2003) co-workers seems to be grateful of managers abilities to regulate their anger and impulses to withstand stressful situations and adverse events as it lead them to be happy and cooperative members of the group. Furthermore Studies show that peoples happiness in the work place plays a role in organisational success ( Daft & Lane 2008a). Leading with heart and mind builds good interpersonal relationship among people where they are happy as a result it leads people to be motivated and effective to carry ones task efficiently with love based motivation. Emotionally competent leader are more adjustable to ever changing circumstances, more resilient, more open to the opinions and ideas of others which helps the followers to develop and grow as there is an atmosphere that enhance ones feeling of self worth, and self image and assist to meet ones needs and achieve personal goals. For instance if an employee feel that one have sense of meaning and valued in ones organisation by being acknowledged and supported by the leader one can have a love based motivation of fulfilling ones tasks wholeheartedly which brings out creativity that lead to productivity. According to Singh, Manser and Mestry (2007) examined the significance of emotional intelligence in conceptualizing collegial leadership in education. Research findings show that the presence of appropriate Emotional intelligence behaviour in the leadership structure of school showed the following, foster healthy relationships based on trust with members of their staff, they have confident in their roles as leaders, inspire and motivate others to work and they are able

to identify their own weakness and strengths through their own self awareness hence it leads to self growth. In addition engaging the heart and mind is to have the passion to build good relationship with subordinates or followers by considering others needs hence that create respect, hope, trust which can lead to good productivity among the team or organisation. For example based on Dr Zaliha who is explained to have a passion, being admirably energetic, altruistic and agent of change where she assist by raising funds for foster children, one with amputated leg for the children to be able enhance their physical, emotional health and attain their education well, and there was a sense of trust that was established where the three foster children she assisted trusted her to be their mother. Moreover it is an essential aspect on having a leader with intellectual capabilities and emotional intelligence. A leader with intellectual abilities like abstract reasoning, verbal fluency, learn cultural differences and know how to ask and respond to question that reflect on having effective communication skills. Successful leadership is not only about intellectual abilities only but it have to link with emotional intelligence that include compassion, influence and flexibility because combining the two aspects make one to have a general perspective and knowledge on different situation that can lead to how to successfully handle various situation. For example Dr Zaliha portrays being a leader that cares about the welfare of others by taking part in developing programs that can assist disabled people. Furthermore her described emotional intelligence was not the only thing revealed; she used her intellectual capabilities to educate families of disability people and society on how to cope and assist disability people to adjust and cope well in their daily living. Dr Zahila introduced and described Bio-psycho techno perspective of persons with disability that explain and educate family members how to be emotional, social and psychological prepared

to deal with the challenging situations during the discovery process. This shows how Dr Zahila have an intellectual ability to teach people and bring sense of understanding among the society hence it lead to productive results. For example she was able to raise funds for disable people who their families do not have enough finances to assist in the procedure of their recover as a result due to Dr Zalihas use of emotional intelligence and intellectual capability; people have awareness on assisting people with disability to have emotional, financial and social support that lead lives to be enhanced and productive. For instance a man who had an accident that lead him to be paralysed without being able to speak and function well physical was helped through ICT to be able to use the computer to carry his daily skills which lead him to be productive on his expressing his capability through the use of computer. In addition Daft and Lane (2008a) stated that creating a workplace or organisation that have a leader who have intellectual capability and emotional intelligence to be more interactive than commanding and controlling lead to development. A leader who is interactive where decision making and leadership is applied across levels with building a team work with balance involvement of attaining tasks and developing personal relationship, it leads to effective teamwork and productivity. For example if a softball coach as a leader have a skills to teach players and act to build a personal relationship with player by caring and be supportive to understand their challenges more than just only be a team player. Understanding followers feelings can clarify that people in the teams are not just only a team but a family where they can open up on what they are feeling to each other and assist each other which lead the team to be effective. As Plato Greek Philosopher once said The first and best victory is conquer self based on our opinion one should first lead oneself to prepare oneself to become a leader by start listening, disciplining oneself and staying optimistic when one is faced with challenges to learn and grow from life adversities. In addition being accountable of ones action to learn

from ones mistakes and develop from that. The most essential part to prepare one to lead with a heart and mind through having the awareness that everyone needs meaning in their lives. Make people feel how valuable and meaningful they are, showing that by being compassion to those around us who are struggling and striving. For example we can start by joining a community service where one contributes in assisting the needy through ones service by being a servant to others. To serve in that can be described in various way which are listening, coaching or challenging, be open minded and respect peoples values and attitudes. By being patient, considerate, kind, respect and understand others same will be returned to us. Have the confidence which of course will lead to the willingness to recognize challenge, and understanding challenge leads to learning, growing, and building people and things of value. Furthermore in our opinion to be a good leader, one must first be a good follower meaning that you need to follow and learn the values and beliefs of those people you are leading so that one can better understand their needs and then care to assist them service them. However being a leader there can be challenges along, for example we learned that even though Dr Zahila is one of the good leader she emphasised that she was faced with challenges financially to assist peoples needs who were disability and have to deal with their family members too to accept the situation but she took action to assist them. So what we have learned is that challenges can always come but one should not give up and say there is nothing to do but one can say it can be possible, if we work together with willing heart with people to make it effective for example what Dr Zaliha did by working with the people to raise funds to assist those who in need and always help the community, family and individual to know how to assist people with disability and know that they are productive too in the society through bio-psycho-socio techno perspective seminars.

In conclusion leadership is an essential aspects thing in life as it happens every day in our daily life starting with one self, in various organisation and team works. As a result leaders should understand leading to serve people in link with emotional intelligence as one have self awareness, is mindfulness of peoples emotions which lead to good personal relationship which in general lead to growth and productivity on the society and peoples productivity.
