1. Brief summary of work activity or project assessed

Construction of set to create scene based on a film reference for photographic purposes. Erection of partitions; scenic design and application of finishes such as paint, wallpaper and the creation and installation of wood panelling, door plus frame and window plus frame. The laying of carpet and dressing set with items of furniture, props and the use of models (x1 Male x1 Female) and costume. Placement and use of continuous lighting equipment, placement of photographic equipment (including cables, stands, lighting, tripods). Dismantling set after completion of work. Logistically set build items will need to be brought into the studios and then removed at the end.

6. List control measures in place to reduce risks Your control measures should ultimately reduce the overall risk. Do not purely rely upon Personal Protective Equipment.

Hazard tape to demarcate safe and unsafe working areas. Electrical items used are formally tested and approved via UCA if from an external source Use cable covers where needed and route cables in a safe manner Use of gloves for lighting equipment and acrylic sheeting Team discussion and explanation of risks. Direct team to Health and Safety manual on website ensure it has been read and understood Implement tidy and safe placement of equipment and materials Ensure that team understand use of ladders. Ensure team take refreshment breaks Demarcate safe area for cutting and painting of materials Wear goggles and face mask if cutting materials within studio Ensure proper footwear and clothing for team members. Correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Check location of first-aid trained staff, and procedures for accidents H&S rep to remind team of safe use of lights Team to work in pairs when erecting partitions 2 of 4

Team work when moving items from vehicles into studios, including extra care on stairs and awareness weights and nature of loads to be lifted. Team members with back issues to take extra care and ask for assistance with lifting or manual handling issues. Demarcate safe area for visitors. Ensure visitors understand and follow health and safety procedures. Explain emergency and first aid procedures to them. Nominate team member with responsibility for visitors. Keep work area tidy. Allow sufficient time for dismantling. Personal possessions to be kept in safe area. No untrained students to participate in use of tools and building work (only trained/inducted students) Visitors to follow UCA sign in and security procedures Evacuations procedure and points to be explained to non UCA contributors Set to be of study and safe design and application Technical support to be utilised for advice and approval of set and lighting set up. All props to be safe and in the case of any gun(s) they are to be certified as de-activated (certificate to be supplied) or must be replica weapons only. It/they are to be secured when not in use during the shoot. Transported securely and not taken unsecured outside of the shoot location.
