Yes,

this is issue is very important because: The crops are poor and supply is failing to keep up with demand All kinds of diseases are spreading in the council because of dirty water. I took the responsibilty because I knew that it was everyones duty to react towards this bad situation. Especially on environment which is the root of life.

I started to inform people on Climate Change, its bad consequences, as well as the strategies to face it.

The council, the representative of the Ministry of Water, the Jirama, the Society Colas , Jardin dElemiah. Men and women are equally involved in the project because they are all using water for everyday life and in agriculture

CREATIVITY: ARE YOU USING ARTS, CULTURE, MEDIA AND SOCIAL MEDIA TO POPULARISE THE ISSUES?

The BCPI gave training for the responsible of public drinking fountain. Establishment of a committee for maintenance

Transparency in Management (report and feed-back)

Water:

Monthly report (comparing income and water spent) Double signature of the responsible of the public fountain and the president of the association before putting the money into the account Salary for the responsible of the public fountain and a special budget for maintenance

Tree planting

Verification of the trees planted every six months.

WHAT RESULTS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED?

The problem of water was reduced at 80%

The quality of production has improved considerably because of water. Women can plant vegetable such as tomatoes which was not possible before.

THE PRODUCTION OF VEGETABLE AND RICE HAS INCREASED AT 75%

There is harmony and peace in each household because men as well women participate in the expenses of the family
Violence has decreased because the public fountain is in the village Decrease of diseases due to dirty water

THE PROJECT IS EFFICIENT BECAUSE:

In 2009: 30% of children were suffering from diseases caused by dirty water In 2011: Only 2% of children were reached

2010: Access to water is easier. This situation decreased the cases of rape while little girl had to go far for getting water

The revenue of each household has increased Young people are coming back from town to work in agriculture business
Creation of associations for the fight against gender violence

The project is sustainable because of the partnership with the council


It can be replicated in other region or countries because climate change and its effect is a world phenomenon

Sensitization on reforestation is very important to protect environment Saving water is capital for a sustainable development Transparency in management is the key for the success and the sustainability of a project PROTECT environment and SAVE water for future generation
