Negotiations Blood borne disease Blood thinners/Aspirin Bleeding disorder Why do needles.phobias?

phobias? Diabetic Allergies Low BP, prone to fainting Let your victim know that its your first attempt & have a co-top Set up Cover all surfaces that might get blood on them: use chux, tarps, etc. Remove clothing, or dont mind if it gets bled on. Set out all supplies beforehand, so you dont have to handle containers with blood on your hands. Or have an assistant. Have an open sharps container right handy Have a trash bin handy Be sure you have sufficient light; although dorky, a forehead light works well Keep a clean & clear play space Position the bottom either lying down or sitting up, whichever is comfortable and affords the best access to the area to be pierced. (Sitting up will generally get better blood drips, for those who like such things.) Safety

Avoid cross infection.. Use gloves; double gloves are good especially if there is concern about transmission of blood-borne diseasediscuss what to do if you get pricked

Gloves: non latex, theyre not sterile unless theyre surgical gloves. The gloves can protect your hands against any blood cross contamination & youre partner from your sweat or other contaminants if you have cuts or scrapes. (unless they are the expensive sterilized surgeons gloves they would protect you the same as bare hands washed thoroughly with anti-bacterial soap.) Gloves should be snug-fitting to allow fine movements Change gloves as many times as needed & before removal (piercing hands touch a few places that can make them less than safe especially around the genital and anal area.)

Avoid infection new sterile needles, never reuse Do not open package until youre ready to use them; Do not uncap needles until ready to insert. Never touch the sharp of the end of the needle, or allow it to come into contact with anything. This end must remain clean and sterile for when it is removed (i.e., the tip will travel back through the skin & may carry germs). Avoid clothing/sleeves that will get caught on the needles.

Beware of over enthusiastic observers If your victim passes out attend to his/her safety first! Needles can stay in and be removed after the more immediate threat has been dealt with. Don't use sewing needles or dress makers pins. These have a thin coat of metal to make them shiny. The plated coat can easily come off and enter the blood stream and cause infections or even death should it lodge in the brain or an important organ. Dont fish around Needle Parts sheath

hub bevel Needle Gauge The smaller the gauge of a needle, the larger the needle diameter, i.e.: a 25 gauge needle is smaller in diameter than an 18 gauge needle. Common needle gauges for play piercing are 25 through 18. (smaller than 25 may bend, serious maso plays w/ 14s) Different gauges of needles have different color hubs, but these colors are not consistent across brands. On the needle package, the needles are commonly identified first by gauge, and second by needle length (in inches). So a package labeled "25 X 1 1/2" would contain 25 gauge needles with a length of 1 1/2 inches. 1- long needles are the easiest to work with. Shorter needles (1 or even down to 5/8) are nice for decorating or in small areas. Longer needles are harder to work with but can also add interesting dimensions, but are more expensive. Methods The basic method is that the needle will go just underneath the surface of the skin, and will emerge through the skin a short distance from where it was inserted. (More secure pierces are best to be inch or more.) Be very careful of the needle coming out keep your hands away to avoid needle sticks. Needles generate quick and deep endorphins, so go slowly and dont be afraid to stop at any point. Check in with your victim often. Be sure that the person is comfortable

Have them take a deep breath before you insert the needle. Have them slowly release it while the needle is inserted, and be sure to

check in with them regularly, just to make sure they are still ok. Make sure that they are not faint or going pale. Look for shaking, its sign that they are being flooded with hormones and neurotransmitters and maybe need a breather before continuing. Be careful of shallow piercings, they can easily be ripped out or tear the skin. Pinch or with aid of sheath Bevel up/down Deep/surfaceSome people believe that Shallower = More Pain, I have not found this to be the case always. I find that each insertion is different.larger diameter needles will give more pain Anchor pointsNOalthough there are people who do needle suspensions Cork or clutches or tuck Dab insertion point w/ alcohol for added sensation What to do after needles are in

Areas to Pierce In general piercing where there is a good amount of skin and fat tissue are good areas to play. Bones should never be touched by needles Genitals is a special topic, with special precautions that must be followed to avoid causing permanent damage; don't try any sort of genital piercing without further training. There are some areas of the body that aren't recommended to use for this type of play. You should not try piercing the wrists, hands, any internal organs , eyes or the spine.

Surface arteries, capillaries, veins or underlying unevenness of the skin should be avoided. In the cock shaft these are easy to see, but don't panic if you hit one, allow the wound to bleed as this washes away bacteria and just apply a few minutes firm pressure after. Areas like the feet and hands are usually not played with because of the number of bones, the lack of fat tissue and the number of veins etc. that are present. The armpit is usually not an area of play because of the extensive sweat glands present. The sternum is not usually played with either as there is once again no fat tissue there. Avoid areas w/ lot of nerves: face, spine, palms of hands and souls of feet, the inside of joints, such as behind the knees, inside the elbows, etc. - there are many blood vessels and sensitive nerves in these locations Breast: scar tissues can form and lumps develop

Procedure The surface to be pierced should be disinfected firstdisinfect a greater area than what you want to use. I use technicare (Betasept, Scrubcare, Exidine) contains 3-4% Chloroxylenol (Could spray down w/ alcohol and wiped w/ sterile pads afterward) Hibistat (alcohol-6 part and hibicleanse-1 part if there is sticky residue then thin it out more)

Removal/ Disposal To twist or not to twistscrapeneedles zippers

Clean with sterile pads, alcohol will make it bleed more. If the piercee will be among people, cover wounds with gauze, bandages, or thick clothing (once no longer bleeding) sheathing or sharpes containers. Always dispose of needles in sharps container, re-sheath them if you have to but not recommended. Never just throw the needle into the garbage without either re-sheathing or putting it into a sharpes container. Don't 'push' sharps into the container. Drop them to avoid needle stick injuries to yourself.

Taking gloves off without contamination. After care is very important with this type of play, looking for any signs of shock, their metal status, and further bleeding.
