Victory Hall Theater is located in the quaint town of Scottsville, Virginia on the famous Horseshoe Bend of The James River. This historic building was completed in 1920 as a showplace for theater, vaudeville, and other live performances. It was designed by local architect D. Wiley Anderson and was named to commemorate the end of WWI. Silent films were shown, with player piano accompanimentand later, the classics and musicals of Hollywoods Golden Era were shown on the big screen. Victory Hall was Scottsvilles cultural center for many decades. In the 1940s and 50s, many of the future greats of country music performed here, including Patsy Cline and Hank Williams. Recently renovated with a new stage, upgraded lighting, and soundScottsville Arts and Nature is bringing back LIVE MUSIC to Victory Hall Theater! Scottsville Arts and Nature (SCAN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling a vision: a place for art, a place for nature, a place for everyone! For more details, please visit: http://scottsvilleartsnature.org/. As part of our community service vision, 50% of ticket sales will go directly to the artist/band to help support our local musicians! Thanks to a very generous donation to SCAN of more than 10 acres of open and wooded property (just a short hike from downtown), future plans include a creative arts center, naturalized gardens, and trails to be located at Sunnyside Farm, linking a system of hiking areas all around the town of Scottsville. The theater is also available for private rental for your next special event, training session, meeting, workshop, seminar, lecture, presentation, film screening, music, CD release party, etc. We are looking forward to great things happening in our town, but we also need your support and welcome your input.
