Responsibility for hiring and firing of staff. Ensuring that all staff are fully
trained in matters of sales and security and that they provided a high
level of customer services.
When I took on the business it was making significant annual losses. Over
a period of 7 years I turned the business around to be one of the most up
to date Post Offices in Nottinghamshire which now makes a healthy profit
and which I was recently able to sell on the open market. This was
achieved by hard work and commitment, by increasing the sales of Post
Office products, increasing the foot flow by matching the items in our
retail outlet to the needs of our customers. A large part of our success was
due to the team of staff employed in the office, under my leadership we
had a very happy working team who always put the customer’s needs first
and maintained a friendly, welcoming environment. This was
acknowledged in 2006 when I was very flattered to be voted retail service
provider of the year in a competition run by a local newspaper.

Main roles include overseeing stock levels of two retail outlets. Updating
web-site when new products become available or need removing.
Overseeing the mail order department selling on both the web site and
Ebay – obtaining the items from warehouse – packing and dispatching –
advising customer of parcel dispatch and tracking etc. Dealing with
customers on the telephone,via internet or face to face in the retail outlets
and on the trade stands at various equestrian shows nationwide. Entering
invoice details on Sage Accountants. Liasing with suppliers for goods and
negotiating prices.
