Peninsula Seniors Productions General Information What is Peninsula Seniors Productions?

Peninsula Seniors Productions is one of the outreach activities provided by Peninsula Seniors located in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Selected lectures, programs, and events are taped by volunteers for non-commercial broadcast on local cable channels and video streaming on the internet. Weve produced over 130 programs since early 2007 and our programs have been honored with local and national video awards. Peninsula Seniors is a non-profit tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organization and is governed by a Volunteer Board of Directors serving the senior adult community on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and in surrounding areas. Peninsula Seniors was incorporated in 1982 and has grown to more than 1000 members. We are unique in that we are self supporting and not a department of any of the four cities on the Peninsula or any other public agency. The TV programs are produced by volunteers using video equipment and supplies provided through donations from our membership and the community.

What Programs Are Produced by Peninsula Seniors Productions?

Peninsula Seniors Productions produce non-commercial program content for viewers of all ages. Our programming includes: Peninsula Seniors Lecture Series is a regular program to broadcast selected lectures from our weekly lecture series. Typically about one program per month is selected for taping. Peninsula Seniors Out and About is an on-location program that brings selected events and other programs of interest to the community that may be done in conjunction with the Western Museum of Flight and other non-profit organizations.

When and Where Will the Programs be Broadcast?

Our primary outlets include: RPVTV at noon and 7:00 pm daily in Palos Verdes on Ch 33 (Cox Cable) and Ch 38 (Verizon FiOS) Torrance Community TV at 7:00 pm daily on Ch 28 (Time Warner Cable) and Ch 36 (Verizon FiOS) Click on the video tab at www.pvseniors.org for the TV program schedule for Torrance and Palos Verdes. Who Tapes and Edits the Programs?

Programs are produced by two of our members, Betty & Jarel Wheaton, who volunteer to produce the TV programs as a service to the community. They are our directors/producers/editors. Call them at (310) 541-9336 for questions about potential programs, scheduling, and comments about our TV programs.
