Car Park Simulation

1.When a car is detected at the Entry sensor, the barrier should open and allow the car to enter. 2.When a car is detected at the Exit sensor, the barrier should open and allow the car to exit. 3.When the car park is full, the Full light should be 'ON'. 4.When the car park is empty, the Empty light should be 'ON'. 5.When there are spaces in the car park for cars, the Spaces light should be 'ON'. 6.The number of Spaces is to be displayed at all times via the Accumulator of Counter 1.

NB. The barriers should be in the 'UP' position long enough for the cars to enter or exit the car park.

The inputs and outputs are:

IP0 - Entry sensor IP1 - Exit sensor OP0 - Full light OP1 - Spaces light OP2 - Empty light OP3 - Entry barrier OP4 - Exit barrier

Traffic Light Simulation

The sequence of the traffic lights is as follows:

RED 5 seconds later RED & AMBER 5 seconds later GREEN 5 seconds delay

The sequence should be fully automatic and start with the RED 'ON' immediately.

The inputs and outputs are:

OP0 - RED light OP1 - AMBER light OP2 - GREEN light

An example solution to this simulation can be found on the accompanying LADSIM solutions disk.

System healthy - no indication. System in alarm - a flashing Amber light and audible alarm.

1.If the operator presses the ACCEPT button when the plant is in alarm, the audible alarm stops and the flashing Amber light changes to permanently 'ON'. 2.If the plant drops out of alarm condition before the ACCEPT button is pressed, the panel will show a flashing Green light. The audible alarm and Amber light will go 'OFF'. 3.If the ACCEPT button was pressed when the plant is healthy, the Green light will go 'OFF'.

4.There should be a LAMP TEST button which, when pressed, will light all lamps and sound the audible alarm.

The inputs and outputs are:

IP0 - Plant alarm condition IP1 - Operator accept button IP2 - Lamp test OP0 - Amber Lamp OP1 - Green Lamp OP2 - Audible Alarm

An example solution to this simulation can be found on the accompanying LADSIM solutions disk.

Bottling Plant Simulation

Conveyor 1 runs continuously and is fed one bottle at a time. Each bottle travels along the conveyor and is guided into position where it is filled and capped. The bottle is then allowed to continue along the conveyor to conveyor 2. The cap is wound onto the bottle and then waits at the end of the conveyor until there are 3 bottles in total. The bottles are then pushed onto the Stacker. This is repeated another 2 times so that there are 9 bottles on the Stacker. The stacker should then be lowered and the bottles will exit onto conveyor 3.

The inputs and outputs are:

IP0 - Level sensor IP1 - Bottle Stop sensor IP2 - Bottle in winder sensor IP3 - Counter sensor IP4 - Cap plunger limit switch IP5 - Stacker piston limit switch OP0 - Stop bottle piston OP1 - Cap winder piston OP2 - Stacker piston OP3 - Cap plunger piston OP4 - Bottle filler piston

OP5 - Conveyor 1 OP6 - Conveyor 2 OP7 - Stacker to Conveyor 3

An example solution to this simulation can be found on the accompanying LADSIM solutions disk.

Drinks Machine Simulation

A coin is inserted into the coin slot. Once detected, if a drink button is pressed, the correct drink will be dispensed and the coin kept or if the reject button is pressed, the coin will be rejected and no drink will be dispensed.

The inputs and outputs are:

IP0 - Coin sensor IP1 - Cola button IP2 - Lemon button IP3 - Cherry button IP4 - Lime button IP5 - Reject button OP0 - Coin hold solenoid OP1 - Coin accept solenoid

OP2 - Cola drink solenoid OP3 - Lemon drink solenoid

OP4 - Cherry drink solenoid OP5 - Lime drink solenoid

An example solution to this simulation can be found on the accompanying LADSIM solutions disk.

Solutions are provided freely and intended for educational use, and can be copied, modified and distributed as you wish.

Packing Line Simulation

A box travels down a conveyor. When it reaches the Rotary Table, the table should turn either left or right dependant upon the size of box. The relevant piston should move the box onto the correct conveyor and the box should then continue to the end of that conveyor.

The inputs and outputs are:

IP0 - Box length sensor IP1 - Box length sensor IP2 - Rotary Table sensor IP3 - Horizontal conveyor sensor IP4 - Vertical conveyor sensor IP5 - Start button

OP0 - Vertical conveyor solenoid

OP1 - Horizontal conveyor solenoid OP2 - Conveyor 1 OP3 - Vertical conveyor OP4 - Horizontal conveyor OP5 - Turn Rotary Table right OP6 - Turn Rotary Table left

An example solution to this simulation can be found on the accompanying LADSIM solutions disk.
