Revisions for the test

A. 1. Verb tenses Present Simple and Present Continuous

Uso: Usamos o Present Simple para descrever:

factos I like milk./ Maria plays football./ The sun rises every morning. rotinas I usually get up at 8 oclock. NOTA: Com o Present Simple usamos muitas vezes advrbios de frequncia (palavras que nos mostram com que frequncia fazemos alguma coisa). Always 100% - Tim always wears jeans. Usually 80% - I usually go to bed at 9:30. Often 60% - Sue often goes to the cinema.

Forma: Afirmativa No te podes esquecer de colocar um s ou es na terceira pessoa do singular (he;she;it) !! Ex: go -------------goes miss----------misses watch--------watches irregulars: to be- is / are to have has/have Negativa: Usa o auxiliar to do!! Doesnt + infinitivo he/she/it Dont + infinitivo todas as outras pessoas Ex: He walks in the street / He doesnt walk in the street I walk in the street / I dont walk in the street Interrogativa Usa o auxiliar to do!! Does + sujeito + infinitivo he/she/it Do + sujeito + infinitivo todas as outras pessoas Ex: He walks in the street / Does he walk in the street? You walk in the street / Do you walk in the street?

Em todas as outras pessoas, a conjugao fica igual ao infinitivo! Ex: I go to the cinema

Uso: Usamos o Present Continuous para falar sobre coisas que esto a acontecer neste momento. Usamos com : now e at the moment!! Forma: Afirmativa No te podes esquecer de usar SEMPRE o verbo to be + ing (no verbo principal). Ex: I am reading a book. He is dancing. They are studying. Negativa: Usa o verbo to be na negativa. Ex: I am not reading a book. He isnt dancing. They arent studying. Interrogativa Usa o verbo to be antes do sujeito. Ex: Are you reading a book. Is he dancing. Are they studying.

Past Simple

Uso: Usamos o Past Simple para descrever:

Acontecimentos no passado I studied English yesterday. / He went to the cinema last weekend.

Forma: Afirmativa No te podes esquecer que existem dois tipos de conjugao no Past Simple: Verbos regulares: - acrescentas ed ao infinitivo. Verbos irregulares: -estuda muito bem a lista dos verbos. Ex: to walk - I walked the dog. to be I was happy with the present. to come He came to the party. Negativa: Usa o auxiliar to do!! Didnt + infinitivo todas as pessoas Ex: He walked in the street / He didnt walk in the street I went to the supermarket. / I didnt go to the supermarket. Exercises: Interrogativa Usa o auxiliar to do!! Did + sujeito + infinitivo todas as pessoas. Ex: He walked in the street / Did he walk in the street? I went to the supermarket. / Did I go to the supermarket.
