Angry Birds- Green Pig Beanie Pattern

Sizes
6-12months 1-5years 6-11years

Gauge: 4 rows of 8 stitches = 1.5 tall x 2 wide After round 3 (30 dc) your piece should measure approx 2.75 across the widest part

Beanie size 6-12 months


Materials: H (5.00mm) hook and 1 skein medium worsted weight yarn I use Caron Simply Soft Terms: ch: chain st: stitch slst: slip stitch sc: single crochet hdc: half double crochet dc: double crochet dc2tog: double crochet two stitches together (decrease) ( ): repeat around { }: total number of stitches Instructions: Join each round with a sl st in the chain Ch 4, join with sl st to form ring. Round 1: ch 1, 9 sc in ring; join with sl st in first sc {9 sc} Round 2: ch 3 (counts as dc from here forward), dc in joining space, (2dc in each sc) {20 dc} Round 3: ch 3, dc in joining space, dc in next dc, (2dc in next dc, dc in next dc {30 dc} Round 4: ch 3, dc in joining space, dc in next two dc, (2dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc) {40 dc} Round 5: ch 3, dc in joining space, dc in next three dc, (2dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc) {50 dc} Round 6: ch 3, dc in joining space, dc in next ten dc, (2dc in next dc, dc in next twelve dc) {54 dc} Round 7-16: ch 3, (dc in each dc) {54 dc} Fasten off; weave in all tails Add contrasting color at back seam. Eyes (make two)


Materials: H (5.00mm) hook and 1 skein medium worsted weight yarn
I use Caron Simply Soft

Terms: ml: Magic Loop ch: Chain st: stitch slst: slip stitch sc: single crochet ( ): repeat around { }: total number of stitches Instructions: Work in continuous rounds, do not slip stitch We will be working on the white outer part of the eye first R1: sc 6 into magic loop {6sc} R2: sc 2 into each sc {12sc} R3: (sc2, sc1) {18 sc} Slst into 1st sc of R2, fasten off, leave a tail for sewing Now well be working on the pupil R1: sc 3 into magic loop [3sc] Sl into 1st sc, fasten off, leave a tail for sewing Sew the pupil onto the center of the white outer eye.

Nose
Materials: H (5.00mm) hook and 1 skein medium worsted weight yarn
I use Caron Simply Soft You will also need some sort of stuffing. I used polyfil.

SlST w/ 1st hdc R2: Ch 1, (2 hdc, 1 hdc2) 3 times, 2 hdc, 1 hdc in the next 5 st, sl st with 1st hdc of the round R3: Ch 1, 1 hdc, 1hdc, (2hdc, 1 hdc) 2 times, 1 hdc, (2 hdc, 1 hdc) 2 times, 1 hdc, 1 hdc in next 5 st, sl st with 1st hdc of the round R4: Ch1, (1 hdc, 2 hdc) 2 times, 1 hdc, 1 hdc in next 4 st, (2 hdc, 1 hdc) 2 times, 2 hdc, 1 hdc in next 7 st, sl st with 1st hdc of the round R5: Ch1, turn and work back along the last few stitches of R4, 5 sc, sl st R6: Ch1, turn, sc2tog, sc 3, sc2tog R7: Ch1, turn, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog, fasten off Now working on the nostrils (make 2) R1: sc 3 into the magic loop, sl st closed, fasten off-leave a tail for sewing Sew these onto the pig nose

Ears (make two)


Materials: H (5.00mm) hook and 1 skein medium worsted weight yarn
I use Caron Simply Soft

Terms: ml: Magic Loop ch: Chain st: stitch slst: slip stitch sc: single crochet

sc2tog: single crochet two together hdc: half double crochet ( ): repeat { }: total number of stitches Instructions- Well be starting with the outer green portion of the ear R1: sc 4 into the magic loop R2: ch1, turn, sc 4 R3: ch1, turn, sc 4 R4: ch1, turn, 2 sc, sc, sc, 2 sc R5: ch1, turn, 1 sc, 2 sc, sc, sc, 2sc, 1sc R6: slst into the corner of the ear, then sc all the way around, fasten off- leave a tail for sewing Now making the black portion of the ear R1: sc 4 into the magic loops R2: ch1, turn, sc 4 R3: ch1, turn, sc 4 R4: ch1, turn, 2sc, sc, sc, 2sc, sl st corner of ear and fasten off- leave a tail for sewing Sew the black piece into the inner part of the green ear piece.

Assembly
Sew the pig nose on first. I start on the nose portion and sew around, stuffing halfway through. I sew the oval nose part fully down, then sew the mouth down. Sew the eyes on either side of the nose. The ears go just on either side of the top of the hat where the starting row is.
