1. BOSS Installation.

Insert the BOSS install DVD into DVD Drive and restart the systemPress F10 Select SATA : TSSTcorp CDDVDW vai Up and Down Key from K/B Press Enter A boot screen will appear with boot: prompt, Hit enter key to enter graphical installation mode. At the language selection screen select English. At the country selection menu select India. For keyboard layout select American English. Next it will detect network card and ask to configure it. You may select Do not configure network at this time . Configure the Network Hostname : boss Setup user and password Enter the Root Password : Re-enter password to verify : Setup users and Password Full name for the new user: choice User name for your accounts : choice Choose a password for the new user : Re-enter password to verify At the partition manager screen, select manual partition. Select SCSI 1(0,0,0) (sda) 320 GB ATA disk > pri/log 320.1 GB FREESPACE Create a new partition Create a new partition New Partition Size : 200GB Types for the new partition : primary Location for the new partition : beginning It will show mount point automatically Mount Point: / Do you want to return to the partition menu ? No Done setting up the partition. Finish initializing and write change to diskYes It will continue install the base system software selection Select GNOME Desktop Environment and Standard System Utilities. Install the GRUB boot loader to the master boot record? Yes

2. Login from Root User

2.1 In desktop Press CTRL+ALT+F1

3. CHOiCE Client Installation (Manually)

Insert the CHOiCE client CD into CDROM drive & copy the folder choice_on_BOSS to the path /usr/local.

4. Installing Hindi Font

Go to /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS folder Double click on Hinbmith1.ttf and click on Install Font Button.

5. Installing JRE
Copy the directory java from choice_on_BOSS to /usr/local Open the Terminal through ApplicationsAccessoriesTerminal # cd /usr/local/ # ls # pwd # chmod 777 R choice_on_BOSS

6. Create a java plugin for IceWeasel Web Browser

Open the Terminal through ApplicationsAccessoriesTerminal # cd /usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins/ # ln -s /usr/local/java/jre1.5.0_14/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

7. Installing Biometrika finger print Scanner a) Open the Terminal through Applications Accessories Terminal b) Copy the biometrika & chiceclient directories from choice_on_BOSS to /usr/local. c) At the command prompt type the following commands # cd /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS

# dpkg -i module-init-tools_3.3-pre11-4_i386.deb d) # cp /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/biometrika_config/bin/FxReset /bin e) Copy both files fx2000.init.udev & fxstd20.init.udev below command
# cp /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/biometrika_config/etc/init.d/*.udev /etc/init.d/

f) #cp /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/biometrika_config/etc/udev/rules.d/fxdriver.rules
/etc/udev/rules.d/

g) Put all .ko files via below command

# cp /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/biometrika_config/lib/modules/karnel/driver/ misc/*.ko /lib/modules/2.6.39-bpo.2-686-pae/kernel/drivers/misc/

h) Copy fxdriver folder via below command # cp -r /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/biometrika_config/etc/fxdriver i) Copy biometrika folder into /usr/local # cp -r /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/biometrika /usr/local j) # updatedb k) # depmod l) Copy biometrika.sh from /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS into /etc/init.d # cp /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/biometrika.sh /etc/init.d m) n) # cd /etc/rc2.d # update-rc.d biometrika.sh defaults it will take some time /etc

Initializing Biometrika Finger Print Scanner 8.1 Open the Terminal through ApplicationsAccessoriesTerminal #/etc/init.d/fx2000.init.udev start #/etc/init.d/fxstd20.init.udev stop #/etc/init.d/fxstd20.init.udev start #FxReset -p 0 #FxReset i 0 (It will initialize the device) #FxReset -t (Red & Green light of the device will glow). 8.2 You may need to do this step every time you disconnect & reconnect the device. 9. Installing USB Token Open the terminal & type in the following commands

# cd /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS/smartcard_twinusb # pwd # dpkg -i *.deb

10. Configure/Plugin USB Token with IceWeasel Web Browser 10.1. Open Iceweasel and from the Edit menu choose Preferences.
10.2. In the dialog box that opens, click the advanced icon, then the Encryption tab to display the settings as shown in Figure 1.

10.3. Click Security Devices to display the Device Manager window. This displays the modules currently available as shown in Figure 2 on page 5.

10.4. Click the Load button to the right in the dialog. This displays the Load PKCS#11 Device window, as shown in Figure 3.

By default, this is /usr/lib/ClassicClient/libgclib.so

10.7. Click OK. The confirmation dialog appears as

shown in the following figure:

10.8. Click OK.

A brief progress dialog appears indicating that the module is being loaded. When this is completed the following Alert indicates that the module has been installed.

this Alert.

The Device Manager indicates the presence of the new module as shown in Figure 6.

11. Make a USB Token Link File # ln -s /usr/lib/ClassicClient/libgclib-1.3.0.so /usr/lib/libgclib.so 12. TeamViewe6.0 Configuration Open the terminal & type in the following commands a) b) # cd /usr/local/choice_on_BOSS # dpkg -i teamviewer_linux.deb.deb

c) Click on /opt/teamviewer/teamviewer/6/bin/wrapper.sh

14. Installing Printer

a) Connect the printer to your system. Go to System --> Administration --> Printing. b) Select Beside of

15. CHOiCE Client Installation (Automated Procedure) a) Install the BOSS4.1 Operating System refer to step 1 and 2. b) Insert the CHOiCE client CD into DVD drive & copy the folder choice_on_BOSS
to the path /usr/local.

c) Open the terminal through Application--> Accessories --> Terminal d) Run the following commands # cd /usr/local # pwd it will show current directory(i.e. /usr/local directory) # chmod 777 R choice_on_BOSS # ./choice.sh
Wait for the installation, System will be automatically rebooted.

e) Hindi font installing refer to step 4 f) Connect the Biometrika Device on the Back side of the system & Initializing Biometrika
Open the terminal & give command

#/etc/init.d/fx2000.init.udev start #/etc/init.d/fxstd20.init.udev stop #/etc/init.d/fxstd20.init.udev start #FxReset -p 0 #FxReset i 0 (It will initialize the device) #FxReset -t (Red & Green light of the device will glow). g) You may need to do this step every time you disconnect & reconnect the device h) To Configure/Plugin USB Token with IceWeasel Web Browser refer to step 10 i) TeamViewe6.0 Configuration and its shortcut on Desktop refer to step 11 and 12. j) Configure the Printer as given in steps 13. 16.
