About the course : Architectural Conservation is a multi disciplinary

stream which aims at training architects in tackling conservation issues at planning level , interpreting history in modern context , dealing with structural issues and documentation of cultural and built heritage. Sinhgad college of architecture runs a two years full years Masters Course in Architectural Conservation. The Course trains Architects in structural conservation , conservation planning , Art Conservation and the philosophical underpinnings of the discipline. The Faculty consist of prominent professionals from multiple discipline like conservation , archaeology , sociology , Art History and Anthropology. The Department has undertaken research , documentation , planning and design projects in core city of Pune like Raviwar peth, Cantonment and historic towns of Wai , Pandharpaur , Saswad , Junnar , Bhor and many historic areas.

Prospects: India has the worlds largest

treasures of heritage buildings, but except the monuments under ASI & state department of archaeology most of the heritage is threatened by the growing urban pressures .Fortunately Government and NGOs have now realized the importance of retaining the heritage and are looking for trained professionals to carry out the actual conservation works. These are thus good job opportunities for conservation architects in the near future. To facilitate this movement STES has started Masters programm in Architectural Conservation.

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate seeking admission to M.Arch Course must have passed Bachelors Examination in Architecture of recognized University securing minimum Second class (50% marks and above) with /without valid GATE score. The candidate with valid GATE score and /or sponsorship shall be given preference and those without GATE score shall be considered subject to the vacancy.
