Errol Dunkley - Please Stop Your Lying Recorded while he was still a teenager Please Stop Your Lying was Errol's second successful record for Joe Gibbs (The first being You're Gonna Need Me released on Amalgamated in Jamaica in 1967 before the UK Amalgamated label had set up and on RIO in the UK) Probably a Lee Perry production even though it is credited to J. A. Gibson on the label. On one of the Jamaican pressings it says Errol Dunkley With Lyn Tait Band which is likely to be correct as The Lyn Tait Band recorded a lot of material for Joe Gibbs at this time. Some of the lyrics from this song appear in the medley Three In One recorded by Rupie Edwards and released on Success in Jamaica and on Big and New Beat in the UK. Please Stop Your Lying has been reissued on a rather ropey Jamaican pressing with a Joe Gibbs Record Globe label. Please Stop Your Lying is currently available on The CD Joe Gibbs: Scorchers From The Early Years (1967-73) on VP Records. B. Tommy McCook And The Supersonics - Feel So Fine Wrongly credited to Errol Dunkley on the UK Amalgamated release. Also issued as the B side to Please Stop Your Lying on the Jamaican Amalgamated Pressing. Feel So Fine is currently available on the Trojan CD Get On Up (Joe Gibbs Rocksteady 1967-1968) AMG 801 A. -

Stranger Cole And Glady - Just Like A River It's seems the original Version of this tune was the Tennors - Cleopatra / I've Got To Get You Off My Mind, which may have been recorded by the group themselves and was released on an Olive Blossom Blank in Jamaica and on Island In the UK (As the flip to Ride Me Donkey). I think the rhythm track was re-recorded for this release as it is not exactly the same as the Tennors one. Since then there have been dozens of versions on what has become known as the Just Like A River Rythym. It has also been reissued on a lackluster Jamaican pressing. Versions
