Lennie: Lennie is a large man and has the mind of a child. He is very strong however he has no self control. He is also mentally unstable and hardly remember anything except tending the rabbits. He has a dream to own a ranch of his own with his friend George. He has the tendency to get into trouble, and is obsess to pet soft things because it comforts him. George: George is Lennie friend, and they watch each other back. Although George is small, he takes charge of everything. He usually the one who get Lennie out of trouble, and clearly he has a strong influence on Lennie and his actions. Curley: Curley is the bosss son, who owned the ranch. Although he is short, he is an boxer. He hates guys who are bigger then him and usually challenge them to fight. He been married for 2 weeks and is protective of her.

Symbols
Dog: The dog symbolize loneliness. The dog was Candys only friend and companion. The dog is similar to Lennie, Candy, and Curleys wife because like them they dog is lonely, isolated, and different. Also, the dog symbolized vulnerability. Bush: The bush symbolize Lennie hiding spot. George told Lennie to hide here if he ever gotten into trouble. So basically its symbolize protection for Lennie. Mouse: Lennie has an addiction for petting soft things especially mouse. As a result to his addiction he gets into trouble. For example he killed his puppy because he love petting it and was accuse of rape when he just wanted to touch a girl soft dress. So the mouse symbolize a object that comfort and relaxes Lennie.

The game Monopoly became famous during this time. 7. African was affected the most during the depression. 8. Between 1930-1935 about 750K went bankrupt. 9. Farms was sold in auctions. 10. As business decrease, crime had increased. Salinas Valley 1. The city of Salinas was born after Mexico became free from Spain in the 1820s. 2. Known as The salad bowl of the world. 3. Salinas mean salt marsh in Spanish.
