Introduction Jobs are very important to individuals. They help to determine standard of living, place of residence, status and even ones sense of self worth. Job is important to organization also because they are the means accomplishing organizational objectives. Traditionally, organizations used to define job in a rigid way. The popular view about a job was that what it requires does not change; it is designed to be unchanging irrespective of the various incumbents who perform them. In reality however jobs are not static. They are subject to change. Technological advances and competitive pressures may often force an organization to put more emphasis on characteristics of successful performance rather than on standard job duties. Job analysis is a formal and detailed examination of jobs. It is a systematic investigation of the tasks, duties, responsibilities necessary to do the job. In simple term job analysis may be understood as a process of collecting information about a job. Based on the above facts, I try to indentify the job specification and job description of Ethiopian Electric power corporation Dilla branch by conducting structural interview with the branch manager after a lot of appointment. Even though it has a lot of obstacles, this assignment helps me how to introduce or ways of approaching techniques. The result of this job analysis is organized as follow.

Precise definitions vary by context and governing entity. For example, in the context of employment law, it may involve defining the degree of control over a worker's tasks. Direct supervision on a job may be defined by the degree of supervision by a person overseeing the work of other persons, by which the supervisor has control over and professional knowledge of the work being done. so that, the immediate supervision of the manager of Ethiopian electric power corporation is from the head quarter. a. The purpose of the General managers of the Ethiopian electric power corporation Dilla branch is they might report to the owner or executive team of the establishment. They are responsible for operations, marketing, human resources and other business planning. They develop the budget for each department,

approve expenses and establish the standards of service. General Managers also have responsibility for departmental meetings, supplier relations and overall maintenance of the establishment to achieve the stretched objectives of the organizations. b. . The major results or an output of the manager is comparing the actual result with the expected results or out puts, creating smooth relationship between the employees of the organization, and achieve the overall ultimate objectives of the organization. c. . the duties and tasks that is performing by the manager is daily is gaining daily output which is performed at the operational level and also he gets the weekly report and evaluate the result with the organization standard. At the he combine the whole activities and report to region office monthly. d. the branch manager performs different irregular activities for example attending in social meeting; make decision for very urgent activities, etc . The equipments or materials that are mostly used by the organization are telephone, mobile, fax machine, computer, printer, photocopy machine. 98% of their job is facilitated by the above materials. The major responsibilities of the manager for the non human resources are ordering them to use the machines and materials appropriately to achieve the expected plans or objectives. According to the manager there is no monetary loss occur. The reports and records of the organization are prepared when the activities are performed. Here the operational manager reports and records to the middle or tactical manager and again combine and report to the general manager. Sources of instruction which is received to the manager are through both oral and written specification. The nature of supervision which is gain to the branch manager is about the strategic plan of the organization. They supervise him how much he fulfilled his duties and responsibilities to achieve the starched objectives of the organization. And he is audited or supervises quarterly (4 times in a year) The outcomes of the branch manager is reviewed or verified by the reports which is prepared quarterly, observation, by showing the actual and expected outcomes.

B. Reporting relationships
. Under the general manager of the Ethiopian electric power corporation dilla branch there are 3 main branches which are performing different functions.

These are 1. Finance head 2. Human resource manager regarding the authority to hire, terminate, evaluate and transfer of employee, the branch manager has no authority to hire, terminate, and transfer of employees, but he can report the individual performance by evaluating their performance as per the evaluation criteria which is designed by the main branch(head quarter). As per the general manager everything is fulfilled by the regional general manager of the organization.

C. Working conditions
. the working conditions in which an individual or staff works, including but not limit to such things as amenities, physical environment, stress and noise levels, degree of safety or danger and the like. Based on this fact the branch manager explain the working condition of Ethiopian electric power corporation is good because the organization give to the employee hard allowance, and also the gives promotion for those who have outstanding performance in their duties and responsibilities to achieve the organizations objectives. But the environment is heat and it has a great impact to perform individual employees well. . Job-related injuries and fatalities occur every day in the workplace. These injuries often occur because employees are not trained in the proper job procedure. One way to prevent workplace injuries is to establish proper job procedures and train all employees in safer and more efficient work methods. Establishing proper job procedures is one of the benefits of conducting a job hazard analysis- carefully studying and recording each step of a job, identifying existing or potential job hazards (both safety and health), and determining the best way to perform the job or to reduce or eliminate these hazards. Improved job methods can reduce costs resulting from employee absenteeism and workers' compensation, and can often lead to increased productivity. When we came to the dilla electric power corporation the branch manager said that there is a hazard happened in their job especially for technical employees. This hazard is mostly happened during the maintenance period.

D. Job Qualifications

Regarding to the kind of previous work experience necessary for satisfactory performance of his job Ethiopian electric power corporation, according to the manager any person who is working in managerial position is necessary to perform the job satisfactory. . According to the manager the necessary working experience required to perform his job is a minimum of 5 years working experience in managerial position. . The required skills and knowledge to perform his job has a management professional, human resource management or other management related fields are necessary. . The required level of education to perform his job is a minimum of 4- Year College. . In the Ethiopian electric corporation there is a special physical skills especially for these technical employees. . Yes, he said when they hire a new employee. he elaborates as per their job description the organization orders to provide their core competences. e.g. car drivers, technical employees, etc
