Upfront
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE SANCTIFICATION OF THE CLERGY SOLEMNITY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS JUNE 15, 2012 O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church: grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and give power to the words of Priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord. Lord, give us holy Priests; You Yourself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devils traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of Priests. May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of Priests, for You can do all things. My beloved Jesus, I pray to You for the triumph of the Church, that You may bless the Holy Father and all Clergy; I beg You to grant the grace of conversion to sinners whose hearts have been hardened by sin, and a special blessing and light to Priests, to whom I shall confess for all of my life. (St. Faustina Kowalska)

Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and School v. EEOC

A 4th grade teacher at Hosanna-Tabor Lutheran Church broke an internal church rule and was terminated for that action. The EEOC sued the church on behalf of the teacher under the Americans with Disabilities Act for violation of employment discrimination laws. The US Supreme Court unanimously upheld the ministerial exception which gives religious groups the freedom to choose their own ministers. In the Courts words: Requiring a church to accept or retain an unwanted minister, or punishing a church for failing to do so, intrudes upon more than a mere employment decision. Such action interferes with the internal governance of the church, depriving the church of control over the selection of those who will personify its beliefs.

FAMILIES OF NAZARETH

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ There Is No Magical Prescription For Entering Into Heaven "When Christ our Lord says that whoever receives His Body and His Blood has eternal life, He is not giving a magical prescription for entering into heaven. The meaning of His words is much deeper. Habitually passive reception of Holy Communion is not enough to be saved." S.C. Biela, Open Wide the Door to Christ, page 60 Join the Families of Nazareth formation group every Wednesday for 1 hour at 1:00 P.M. in the church cry room to help live out our call to holiness in the midst of the very real challenges of family life today.
