Behaalotekha 2012
This weeks portion moves quickly covering several different big events and important facts along the way taken from Numbers 8:1 12:16! Its translated as meaning When You Set Up in reference to the lighting of the Menorah. Within it we learn of the last few details about the setting up of the Tabernacle and the leaving of Sinai. We then are launched into the details of Israels continued rebellion that is only the start of what will last for the 40 years in the wilderness! None of these details are without significance! In preparation for the future end time Exodus, we find a startling pattern revealing the two choices, ascend to the light of the Menorah or refuse and be found among those that are cut off in the wilderness for their rebellion. Numbers 8:1-3 Lightest: Strongs #5927 alah to go up, ascend, climb; 1st reference is Genesis 2:6 But there went up/alah a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. *The connection between a mist watering the ground and the lighting of the lamps is lost until we dig a little further! Mist: Strongs #108 ed mist; from #181 uwd brand, firebrand, something that stirs the fire The reason this is needed to stir the fire is because Yahweh had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and [there was] not a man to till the ground. (vs. 5) Till: #5647 abad to work, serve; same term used to describe the Levites serving in the Tabernacle Rain: #4305 matar to rain; cognate of metar untied, loose, allowed, permissible, permitted *That which ascends/alah is for the purpose of stirring the fire and untying or loosening up the ground, granting access to it, causing it to be permissible to others the tilling of the ground represents the working of the Torah! In other words, the duty of the one serving/abad in the Tabernacle and lighting the lamps is to loosen and untie the understanding of Torah so that all others would be able to have access to it, to stir the fire in the people!! This is what the priests are being charged with in this portion! Back to the mist its a cognate of #5704 ad until, up to & #5707 ed witness, testimony. The mist was temporary, only meant to be fulfilling this role up to/until the Adam was created to be the witness, to bear the testimony of the Torah! This same purpose is now being reiterated to Aaron! Numbers 8:2 the 1

seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick Lamps: Strongs #5216 niyr lamp; 2 letter root #5204) )wailing, mournful expression of despair & = beginning We are admonished to the light the lamps lest we experience the wailing and despair that happened at the beginning! What was this despair about? *Niyr is from the root #5214 to break up, freshly plough or till; used in Jeremiah 4:3 For thus saith Yahweh to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up/niyr your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. Thorns: #6975 qowts thorn, thorn bush; Gen. 3:18 thorns/qowts and thistles shall it bring forth to thee Gematria = 196, same as #4155 muwaph gloom, darkness Within the Hebrew language all of these thoughts are connected the lighting of the lamps, the tilling of the ground, and the loosening/understanding of the Torah! Yahweh is reminding us that the failure to work the Torah leads to the wailing and despair that was experienced at the beginning in the Garden when Adam failed to work the Torah/light the lamps/till the ground and it led to thorns/darkness! Yet were now admonished to break up the ground, to not sow among these thorns/darkness! Youre charged with bringing light back! Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world There is a very specific way that you are to be the light as well and how you are to shine! Over Against: #6440 paniym face & #4136 muwl front, in front of Youre to shine light in the face/in front of the Menorah/Messiah!! Were to shine light towards Him! The actions of Adam and now of the priests was to cause the Messiah to be lit up made visible in the earth! Another interesting connection to the thorns is found in Exodus 22:6 If fire break out and catch in thorns so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution. Kindled: Strongs #1197 baar to burn, consume, be kindled; to be stupid, brutish, barbarous, dull hearted and unreceptive The moment they chose to remove their light from shining before the face of Yahweh, they became dull hearted/unreceptive, and fire broke out among the thorns their light was shining towards another! *In this portion Israel makes the same mistake! In Numbers 11, Israel chooses to complain and a fire burns among the camp, the place is named Taberah: Strongs #8404 Taberah burning; from #1197 baar to burn, consume, kindle, or be brutish/dullhearted Notice though that Exodus 22 is very specific, the one who kindles the fire

must make restitution! In Numbers 11, Yahweh kindles the fire!! Hes just put Himself in the position to be the one to pay the price according to the Covenant! *He did the same thing in the Garden, he sent the man/ (contains the root fire) to till the ground of thorns He set fire among the thorns so that He would be the one able to make restitution! Restitution: Strongs #7999 shalam to be in a covenant or peace, to be at peace, to be complete, sound, to restore *2 letter root sin, error, a great sin deserving of death & = closed Mem, representing something remaining hidden, concealed When they chose to shine the light in the face of another (serpent), it was a sin worthy of death and caused the ground/light/Torah to become concealed/hidden instead of opened up and revealed! And it now would require one to make restitution and bring back a covenant of peace the Messiah! This is alluded to as well in connection with the mist in the Garden. Gen. 2:6 Watered the whole face of the ground. Watered: Strongs #8248 shaqah to water, irrigate, give drink; 2 letter root #8242) )sackcloth, a material worn to demonstrate mourning and despair, 1st reference deals with it being worn in connection with the death of a son! Its pointing towards the fact that Adam would lose the light and it would require the death of the son! The Messiah would have to bring restitution!

The Menorah
Candlestick: Strongs #4501 Menowrah lamp stand; gematria = 301; the 301st chapter of the Scriptures is 1 Kings 10 where the Queen of Sheba comes to visit King Solomon! 1 Kings 10:1-3 Sheba: Strongs #7614 Sheba seven or an oath (*Just like the seven lamps being lit) 2 letter root = to return & = He who comes; shes returning to He who comes the one who made restitution! Solomon: Strongs #8010 Shelomoh peace; from #7999 shalam to be in a covenant of peace, same word thats used to describe the restitution required when the fire breaks out among the thorns! The Queen of Sheba (representing the Bride) comes to the one who can make restitution and bring back the peace, Solomon/Messiah! This is the same thing thats taking place in the Tabernacle as well when the priests light the lamps its a shadow picture of the Bride coming to the one that has made restitution. 3

Hid: Strongs #5956 alam to conceal, hide, be hidden, be secret; by coming before Him all that was hidden and concealed, lost when we shined our light towards another is now restored. Its the Torah being revealed again, the access is restored! As we continue to dig into this, it seems to point towards the fact that our requirement in this is to again begin to till the ground of the Torah and present ourselves before the one who can reveal the Word to us. This is also seen in the term Behaalotekha itself. 527 = which leads us to the 527th chapter of the Scriptures, Psalm 49 this entire chapter deals with one whose mouth speaks wisdom and who has understanding compared to one who does not and instead trusts in their own wealth. Psalm 49:3-4 Dark Saying: Strongs #2420 chiydah riddle, difficult question, parable, enigmatic saying or question, perplexing; this same term is used in 1 Kings concerning the hard questions that the Queen of Sheba comes to Solomon with! The only way to speak with wisdom and understanding is to have spent time in the presence of the King! Harp: Strongs #3658 kinnowr lyre, harp; gematria = 276, same as #5785 owr skin, hide; what Yahweh clothes Adam and Eve with upon the fall reminding us of the lamb that was slain to bring restitution and restore our peace. *Once again pointing towards the significance of understanding the lighting of the Menorah its all about coming before the King, knowing the price thats been paid! This is the direct opposite of those referred to later in Psalm 49:6 7 Boast: Strongs #1984 halal to shine, to praise, boast, be boastful Riches: Strongs #6239 osher wealth, riches; gematria = 570, same as sofit value of melek king They shine their light upon another king, not understanding the price of their redemption! Psalm 49:19 He shall go the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. Never: Strongs #5331 netsach eminence, perpetuity, strength, enduring, everlasting; from #5329 natsach to excel, be bright, to be overseer Those who refuse the wisdom and understanding, will never be restored back to the light and theyll never be made an overseer over the duty of the Torah! The position that Adam was entrusted with, yet failed, and now we have the chance to take up! 4

3 letter root forming #926 bahal to disturb, alarm, terrify, hurry, be anxious (range of 2 meanings: 1) fear 2) to be in a hurry/hasten) The other letters from #6269 lodging place It reveals to us that in the days ahead there are those who will hasten to the lodging place (Tabernacle) and others that will remain in a state of fear and alarm, all depending upon whom theyve been shining towards! - Whether their actions have caused the Torah to be revealed and that fire kindled, or whether theyve neglected it and chosen to shine upon another melek.
Esther 2:9 And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily/bahal gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, [which were] meet to be given her, out of the king's house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best [place] of the house of the women. Purification: Strongs #8562 tamruwq scraping, polishing, rubbing, remedy for an injury Maidens: Strongs #5291 naarah girl, damsel, female servant; shares the same 3 letter root as Menorah and it is 7 maidens! Preferred: Strongs #8138 shanah again

to change, altar, repeat, do

*The Bride is hastened to the Tabernacle/lodging place where she is able to come in contact with the Menorah and be changed, altered, and have her injuries healed as she is polished and restored! Those that choose to neglect this duty at the Tabernacle remain in alarm and fear because theyve rejected the very one that would bring the covenant of peace, make restitution! Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. *Psalm 49 makes it clear who Yahshua is speaking to here those that have chosen to be an overseer over the Torah and shine their light on Him. They are the ones who understand the price of redemption and therefore are able to lift up their heads!
