ORDINANCE NO. 08-02
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE
TOWNSHIP OF EWING AMENDING CHAPTER 9, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND
COMMITTEES, ARTICLE XI, TO MODIFY THE TERMS OF APPOINTMENTS MADE TO
THE SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 02-03 was adopted amending Section 9-85 to reduce the number of
members of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee from 25 members to 15 members; and

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 02-11 provided that the Committee was advisory to the Mayor; and

WHEREAS, the Township Council desires to amend said Chapter 9 to set forth the terms of
Office and to properly reflect the aforesaid Ordinances for the Senior Citizen Advisory
Committee;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Township Council of the Township of


Ewing that CHAPTER 9, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES, CHAPTER 9,
ARTICLE XI, SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE of the Code of the Township of
Ewing is hereby amended as follows:

Section 1. Section 9-85, Creation; members. Is hereby amended as follows:

Section 9-85, Creation; members. There is hereby created a Senior Citizens


Advisory Committee consisting of 15 members, all appointed by the Mayor with Deleted: 25
consent of Council, all of whom shall be residents of the township, of at least 60
years of age and all broadly representative of the senior citizens of Ewing
Township at-large.

Section 2. Section 9-86, Purpose is hereby amended as follows:

Section 9-86, Purpose. The purpose of this Committee shall be to investigate,


report on and make recommendations concerning problems and matters of general
concern to persons over the age of 60 who reside in the township to the Mayor. Deleted: Township Council

Section 3. Section 9-87, Terms of office is hereby amended as follows:

STATEMENT

This Ordinance amends, Chapter 9, Article XI of the Ewing Township Code to amend the terms
of office of members of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee.
