Topic about Somaliland’s independence

celebration day (18th May)

This day of 18th may 2012 is a HAPPY DAY for me, for all
Citizens of Somaliland. A day of mixed feelings.
Normally many commemoration parties are held all the Somaliland cities and also and
very continent and counties where the Somaliland Diaspora life.
So that I can say this day is a great day in Somaliland citizen’s minds the 2 time of the
Somaliland independence
I am not a politician, not historian nor poemist but a simple
citizen who has a very pleasant of remembrance in his mind.
So I want to leave to those young generations who borning now and later and also born
in the Whiteman`s countries, a few points about the
Beloved HAPPY DAY ,of Somaliland.
If we go back to history the previous HAPPY DAY of Somaliland independence was
June 26th 1960. The day of relaxation from the British protectorate or don`t mine If I call
it the Queens colonisation. The day that the flag of Somaliland danced in the fresh air of
the country. The day that the famous poemists of Somaliland, wrote their pure verses
about the quality of the independence and the flag. Those poemists whom I remember
were
Mr. Ahmed Idaan an Abdillahi Timacade. The day that every Somaliland
Singers and poemists created a very sweet and nationalist songs
At that day Mr. A/lahi sultan Timacade has said “sareeyoow ma nusqaamoow aan
Siduu yahay eegnee kana siib kana saar “.
These words were leaped up the hearts Of all Somaliland citizens, created a cloud of
existence, That recognised by 34 countries, listed in the UN membership.
But unfortunatly anothe humble day came, 4 days later a Historical mistake, ocean of
sadness,
the day of unity, Somaliland and Somalia, July 1960. A lost of a state
SOMALILAND, the day that the red sea sunk in the Indian Ocean.
But the Somaliland old law makers were not take the right way
So I call it, simply, the BLACK DAY.
After more than 20 years nonprofit unity the braves of SNM (Somali
National Movement) born on 6th April 1981.
In a period of uncountable Massacred of the Somaliland intellectuals in Mogadishu,
Hargeisa, Burao,berbera and Gabiley, illegal and indivinite detentions of the Somaliland
officers and educators.
Years of horror, torture, valley of rape, blood of innocence, hatred bombings of the
Unprotected population in every town of Somaliland.
Who did these deadly Actions? Those called themselves? All the military leaders as
bare’s officers are realy responsible in this issue .
That is why SNM been rooted by the Somalilanders, fighted against the non human
hateness of Barre`s government.
Another 10 years of war, the SNM brave fighters gained to
controle the country, to protect the citizens and they put the flag of
hope on all the country. They gathered-up all the elders, sultans and
The political leaders into the traditional congress in Burao. Every
Citizen who participated in that congress knew, this time the public
Would not accept except the re-announcement of the independence of
Somaliland.And they strongly declared the birth of the Republic of Somaliland on 18
May 1991.

IN MY CONCLUSION
Each and every year the 18th may is the main thing that greatly remember, celebrate,
the whole Somaliland population throughout the world.
